It's a bolt catch spring! I replace the factory bolt catch on my AR with the extended POF-USA catch for easier left-handed operation, and I use this to replace the factory bolt springs if they are old or get launched across the room. Handy to have extra small parts like this

It is most definitely a bolt catch spring. Very useful for replacing bolt catch springs that you may or may not have launched across the room while assembling your lower. I would absolutely recommend this bolt catch spring.
