Works well. More sensitive to temperatures than I expected. Nice. I can place my hand on a surface for 2 seconds and detect where my hand was utilizing the AGM.I have not utilized the camera and will. The zoom feature works well. The 4 modes are useful for determining different heat sources.

This device is easy to learn. If you download the app you can see on the app what you see through the viewfinder. It works really well. It doesn’t work through windows. I’ve been able to spot deer, rabbits and squirrels in the woods. It works great. Takes pictures.

For the money – I'm a happy camper and 99% of people would be if this is your first step in the thermal world.I was able to spot and identify an opossum climbing a tree from around 80 yards away on the first night. For general purposes – yes this is a great buy and will be very useful in hunting. Especially squirrel or well camouflaged animals.Do I want way more – yes absolutely – but now I understand that will come with a much higher price tag. But For this price tag -The Taipan is hard to beat.

I like this better than the ATN version as it seems to have a clearer and much bigger field of view…it is simple once you get the switchology down. The only problem I have has thus far is disappearing pictures. I took probably 20 pics and when I went to transfer to my phone there were only 4. Surely an 8gig on board memory holds more than 4 pics.On another note, on the competitions version I couldn't transfer the pics to my pc or phone. I am not sure what to do at this point as I am past the point of return.Does anybody else's have this problem? I know I could send them to my phone as I go but could be a hassle in the dark capturing moving hot spots.

I have hunting buddies with more superior handhelds, but I did not need to rely on this unit as much for identification, but more so for locating. Within 75 yds or so, animal shape can be pretty well identified. At 150 yds you can tell a deer from a house cat for sure, but a Bobcat or Coyote will not be distinguishable, but that is what my scope is for. For the price, it does it's job that I need, and dont have any regrets. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is due to the fact that it will "pause" and have to restart while scanning, causing me to stop motion or miss part of a hunting area until the picture unfreezes for a couple seconds. The WiFi to phone app is nice because a partner can see what you see while only having one monocular.

Yes i would buy it agin i was Hog hunting in Georgia for a week. you can identify animals at 250 yards if you have used thermal before. but you need something else to confirm before it before you shoot a infrared or thermal scope. i had a infrared monocular before this beats it hands down.
