Armasight night vision is built with Generation 3 Image Intensifier Tubes powering their night vision capabilities, the same technology utilized by the United States Armed Forces. Armasight separates its devices by system type (monocular, goggles, clip-on, riflescope, etc.), field of view, phosphor color, and by offering a variety of image intensifier tubes that will fit the needs of different users. Armasight offers five different tubes for different applications. All Armasight image intensifier tubes utilize LLG thin-film technology, which results in continuously excellent performance throughout the lifetime of the image intensifier tube – beyond even 10,000 hours of operation. Bravo – The best value in Generation 3 night vision, with all the technology that produces a significantly improved picture and performance as compared to Gen 2 or digital night vision, but with a few minor imperfections. While all image intensifier tubes may have minor spots or blemishes, our Bravo tube will have more blemishes than our Pinnacle or Pinnacle Elite intensifier tubes. As a result, our systems using Bravo tubes are priced lower and therefore offer significant value for entry-level users. If you are just starting out with night vision and budget is a concern, Armasight systems with Bravo IITs are perfect for you. Bravo tubes may have up to eleven spots or blemishes. If you're looking at the Armasight Night Vision product keep in mind that the real difference between prices on these units is basic green phos tubes versus White Phos – we ordered Pinnacle Tubes in White Phos. They offer one higher, but I cant imagine them being better than these. Also, beware of FOM specs that are misleading – filmless always have a higher FOM but a shorter shelf life.

I will start off by saying I got a sweet black friday deal on these, close to half off. I have always wanted bino's but the list price being that of a decent used car was just too much for me to ever pull the trigger. But I have to say, these are pretty dang awesome. The bravo tubes definitely have two sizable blemishes in them (one in each tube) but they are mostly off to the peripheral of your viewing area. I would be lying if I said I didn't notice them, especially after using a nice PVS14 tube before getting these. But after a while you really don't even register that they are there, and the price cut for these two tiny blemishes are 100% worth it. I wish I had saved my money on the PVS14 monocular and went with bino's like these from the beginning. They feel well built, strong, and function as you would expect for something that costs as much as a used car. As far as you performance goes, they are definitely gen-3 tubes. You can easily see in the dark with any amount of ambient moonlight/starlight and for indoor areas it comes with a IR light that you can switch on by pulling out the On/Off know and rotating to a further position (so you don't accidentally turn it on unintentionally) which is nice. Being able to have depth perception while using night vision is a complete game changer. I can easily make late night runs to the kitchen, make something to eat, and clean up with the lights in my house completely blacked out. Are they awesome? Heck yes. Are they expensive? Heck yes. Is being able to see in the dark while others cannot worth it to you? Up to you, but I am very happy with my purchase!

You can easily see in the dark with any amount of ambient moonlight/starlight and for indoor areas it comes with a IR light that you can switch on by pulling out the On/Off knob and rotating to a third position (so you don't accidentally turn it on unintentionally) which is nice. I have now used gen3 green phosphor and now white phosphor, and while objects do appear slightly more crisp with more detail with the white phosphor, I like the green phosphor just as much and don't notice a ton of difference. Green phosphor makes it FEEL more like night vision, probably due to nostalgia playing splinter cell as a kid, so personally I don't see white phosphor as a necessity and perhaps not worth the additional price. But I would do your own research on that, just my opinion. Being able to have depth perception while using night vision is a complete game changer. Optics Planet came through clutch with this deal, probably would never actually gone through with a purchase like this otherwise.
