Very clear glass with wide adjustability for focus. Very nice low light viewing giving the ability to see into brush and dark places. In Grey lighting, I can see better using the cronus than my naked eye. Also, even while looking towards a rising and setting sun I am still able to pick out objects under trees and brush. A purchase that you would not regret and that i would recommend to anyone and everyone.

For what you get especially if you grab these on sale with promo code + OP free shipping you would be hard-pressed to find another binocular brand at this price. Now that said from my research on the Internet which is forms and reviews /videos made my decision to try Athlon. Now after comparing these Athlon Cronus 10×42 they have beat out my older Nikon monarchs 8×42 (not ED glass) in glass clarity and the edge to edge sharpness /clarity . My review is only a few day of just messing around the farm and hunting land not used during hunts yet. Time will tell! I’ve had my Nikons for years I’m sure the quality has improved on the newer Nikon models. My Nikon’s will still be in my hunting backpack because of larger field of view less weight and size being 8×42 and just a better softer feel. I feel that in cold weather The Athlon will definitely have a cold feel due to the build material and definitely heavier weight but will not be hanging on my neck purchase decision was for use in box stand and wildlife viewing from home only. Maybe later Athlon Cronus will offer a 8×42 and a lightweight model .

Saw a few reviews on YouTube about these binoculars and decided to buy them. They are great for their price range. Very clear glass and the size is just right for me. Not too big, not too small. They come with pouch to carry them also. I like them

  4. Alex Kray

The glass quality is equal bino at twice the price. They are more on the heavy side which is often the case high quality/high price 10x42s ive tried. Compared to my Vortex Diamondback HD, the brightest and the edge to edge clarity is far superior!

The glass is good, better than an entry level, but not by much to my eyes. This is a flag ship line. Yet my bx2 Alpine HD Leopold binoculars at half the cost seemed to be just as good. If I'm paying $500.00 dollars for binocular especially someone's flagship model. I expect more. A real issue is that they also don't offer a 10×50 model, which is what I wanted.

I went on a quest to find the best 10×42 binoculars for $500. My friend has Monarch 7's I would be using for comparison, from reading reviews, feedback on forums, and manufacturer specs my list of 10 binos was narrowed down to 3. I ordered the Leupold BX4 as curiously it's made in Japan, the Frontier EDX which has consistent positive remarks, and this Cronus G2 as Athlon products have been making a very good impression with many of their products the last few years.I set the diopter on all 4 binos and spent several days and evenings using them, this is a brief summary of my impressions:4. Monarch 7 is good, it has noticeable edge blur but a nice bright image, it wasn't exciting to use.3. BX4 has very good resolution, but it had the worst edge blur and narrowest FOV, really expected more.2. Frontier EDX has very good image quality and coloring but wasn't consistent to the edge, handling is great.1. Cronus G2 has distinctly better image quality with edge to edge clarity. Resolution, coloring, brightness and CA are all excellent. They're instantly impressive every time I look through them. Handling is great, the build quality is fantastic, and I really enjoy using them.
