Well constructed and ergonomically designed. When I showed my son, a combat Marine, he was very impressed with it. Then he turned it over and saw it was from BlackHawk and he said no wonder they make some really good gear. Excellent tactical holster for the price. And yes I am buying one for both of my sons, both are Veteran Combat Marines.

I have not had a chance to wear it yet but from initial view and set up seem to be what I was looking for. The construction is rugged and should provide all that I need for more than one type of duty pistol.

This is a great holster! Have had a different brand that left the gun not tight against my leg . This one holds it snug and love the quick disconnect system. The quality of the holster is also very good .

I purchased a Sig P226 SAO Legion and mounted a Stream light TLR1 on it. Upon attempting to find a good tactical holster, it was impossible especially a drop leg holster. I called Optics Planet and requested their assistance and expertise. They highly recommended this holster. I absolutely love it. Secures weapon beautifully and easy to draw. I highly recommend this holster especially to anyone who wants to mount a light on their firearm.

I live and work on opposite sides of a major city and one of my biggest fears is that I would have to walk the 35 miles home in an emergency. I carry a 3 day bag in my vehicle in preparation for the walk home and the backpack I use has a waist belt to help support the load. The shoulder straps and the waist belt prevent me from using a conventional holster so I purchased this drop leg holster as a compromise. The holster arrived on time and was packaged securely. The holster was folded up pretty small and the straps were adjusted all the way in so getting everything sorted out for "sizing" was a little bit frustrating. Mine didn't come with any instructions so I went to YouTube to find out how to adjust everything. I highly recommend doing this before you buy. If you're not comfortable adjusting the straps and Velcro as shown in the videos you should look for something specifically designed for your weapon. I went for the universal drop leg because I switch between a full size 1911 and a Sig P226 and this holster is adjustable to fit either. One of my concerns was that a drop leg holster would rotate on my thigh and make drawing the weapon in an emergency difficult. I chose the BlackHawk Omega VI because it has two belt straps that I put on opposite sides of my belt loops thus preventing the holster from moving. So far after a few hours of wear rotation of the holster has not been an issue. When carrying your weapon cocked and locked it is important to have secondary retention in your holster and the Omega VI has a snap type thumb break for this purpose. The thumb break is difficult to adjust with the tool provided but once you get it set correctly it works well. If you're not a fan of the thumb break or secondary retention in general it is easily removed and the holster doesn't look incomplete without it. Again, this is a truly universal system. The leg straps are a bit of a mystery to me. They come adjusted small enough to fit around your forearm so it's a little surprising when they adjust out far enough to fit around even the largest thighs. The straps have a rubberized coating on the inner surface to prevent the holster from rotating around your leg while you walk. The coating works great for it's intended purpose but it makes it difficult to adjust the belts through the buckles. It's a compromise I'm okay with because the straps don't work (thankfully) like I thought the did. In my mind when I ordered the drop leg I thought that the leg straps would be tight against my thigh and that is how I initially adjust my holster. It was uncomfortable and after only a few steps my pants were bunched up all around the straps. Once I loosened the straps to a comfortable length I was concerned that the holster would move around but it didn't thanks to the rubberized leg straps. I've got to give it to BlackHawk; They know what they are doing when it comes to holster design.

This is a great holster, I use it with a Kimber Officer, I like the doulbe drop straps and with a tactical belt it fits perfect with a few minor adjustments. The belt melds it into a mollie vest. Built durable and adjustable to fit your needs.
