Like all Blackhawk products their SERPA holster is combat ready. When obtaining a shooting grip on my pistol, the detention device is naturally aligned with my extended trigger finger. This design makes for a fast and safe draw. The paddle is secure and very comfortable to wear. I highly recommend the SERPA holster and own about a dozen of these holsters myself. BlackHawk SERPA holsters are one of the finest products available to persons who compete or carry everyday.This system comes disassembled. A Phillips screwdriver and competence in it's application are the only assembly skill sets required. The firearm is safely held in place by a unique lock. Release is accomplished by using the trigger finger being held in the straight, above trigger index position when placing the hand on the pistol butt to unholster. The finger is naturally placed on the release and a slight pressure inward moves the release thereby enabling the firearm to be withdrawn, safely with the trigger finger off the trigger and indexed, correctly above the trigger ready for the initial movement to a sight picture. There is also a screw tension adjustment which can be tightened or loosened to hold the firearm in the holster by tension applied in the trigger guard area. The holster is made of a proprietary kydex-type material and is practically indestructible in normal or extreme operating conditions. It is economically priced and is a great bargain. I have recommended this to others.

It clears the tall sights on the S&W M&P 9mm C.O.R.E. It retains the weapon where you want it. The belt retention system is a little cumbersome, but I do like the holster. The paddle system works very well. The only difference between the Sportster SERPA and the CQC model is the belt loop attachment.

I have 3 of these holsters for different handguns. They are excellent! I recommend these holsters. The retention of the weapon is excellent, construction is very durable and well constructed. The holsters look good and are very serviceable.

With a Glock G-36, it’s not easy to find a good, compact holster that can be worn open or concealed. This holster does just that. My weapon is secure and comes out ready to fire with my index finger on the slide (where it should be). Nice holster.
