Browning X-Lock Bases
$71.21
Securely mounted optics are essential to the accuracy and precision of any rifle. To ensure the Browning X-Lock Bases have the most stable mount possible, Browning uses an all new X-Lock scope mounting system that uses four screws per base, replacing the traditional two-screw system. The benefits are obvious, with the scope bases being secured at all four corners rather than only held at the center of the base, allowing for more accurate placement of the bases on the receiver. This revolutionary new X-Lock system holds the Browning scope base tighter to the rifle than ever before. These bases work with Browning scope rings. They are very sturdy and work as described.

Even though these are branded by Browning, they are obviously manufactured by Talley. In 40 years of using hunting rifles with scopes, I have used Talley products on at least eight rifles. Never had a failure on rifles from .25-06 to .375. In short, one of my favorite mounting systems and I will continue to use them.Pros: Solid design, excellent fit and finish, dependable.Cons: None

Before purchasing this product, I read several reviews that said the user could not figure out which way these mounts should be used on their gun, so I was a little nervous paying the extra cost to get these. Once I had them in my hands, I could not figure out what the confusion was about. There is only one way they would fit on my X-Bolt rifle and they fit perfectly. If you want steel mounts and demand perfection for your Browning X-Bolt, this is the only way to go.

I guess I was a little confused when I ordered these, I thought I needed them to mount my scope onto my x-bolt 300 win mag. I also purchased the integrated scope rings for the x-bolt (x-lock) and as it turns out these base plates are not intended for use with the integrated x-lock rings (they are stand alone) they are intended to be used with non x-lock rings.
