I've used this smoker on several occasions and have been really happy with the temperature control capabilities. Would definitely recommend purchasing a dual probe digital thermometer to supplement temperature control, but that's pretty standard with any smoker you'll buy. I haven't tried hooking the smoker up to my natural gas line yet, but that's a huge perk in my book that I'm looking forward to utilizing.

Set it and forget it. Smokes great and looks great. Conversion to natural gas just involved connecting the hose and drilling the gas valve outlet to size. Only improvement I'd like to see is a bottom door for wood and water refills, but opening the main door doesn't really affect much.

Works great. Glad I purchased the 24 inch smoker. The only downside is the packaging for shipping. Mine had a small raspberry on a corner. I was unable to find at a brick and mortar store for inspection before pickup. OpticsPlanet was prompt shipping and great customer service.

I got the 24" Camp Chef Smoke Vault Food Smoker as a gift for my boyfriend, but honestly I have been using it as much if not more than him. It is really easy to set up and use but we did have to contact Camp Chef because the liner was dented upon arrival. They quickly sent us a new tray and we were on our way to smoking deliciousness. We soaked the wood chips overnight while the meat marinated. We filled the water tray when we loaded the racks and checked on the water tray every 30-45 minutes or so for evaporation. So far we have made ribs, beer can chicken, pork belly, mozzarella, sharp cheddar, wild turkey jerky, salmon jerky and salmon fillets. I highly recommend this smoker for any newbies to the game or are looking for a large capacity smoker.
