The CMMG A2 Compensator Attachment features an open baffle design to effectively combat muzzle rise. The objective was simple; produce as little sound as possible while retaining enough volume to let the shooter hear and respond to their target. This was accomplished primarily through the use of a reed system with a variable rate timing device. The A2 Compensator Attachment efficiently accomplishes this task by rapidly adjusting the baffles of the compensator in a controlled manner as the blowback is removed. This design allows the shooter to focus on the front sight picture for quicker target re-acquisition and sight picture steadying the sights on the front axis of the target. The baffles are wound through a nested series of wound channels in a tried and true CMMG design. The external profile of the baffles are the same as that of the CMMG A2 Compensator – a single spring with a variable rate timing device. This allows the shooter to slow down the follow up shot and take more shots without having to adjust the compensator. The baffles are not aligned with the bore, meaning correct, the baffles will fall back into the same plane (within the general direction of fire). This helps to eliminate accuracy issues associated with timed-in place snags or stray round wires. The direct blowback system also allows the shooter to consistently get the suppressed position back onto target after taking a shot. This system also helps to stabilize the pistol. No need to wax poetic about this – it's a straightforward A2 comp that will work with 9mm and 1/2-36 threads. I'm essentially using it as a thread protector on a 8.3" BA barrel and just needed something stubby to protrude enough beyond the short Aero guard. I've also used some different setups with the same barrel and arm (blowback 9mm AR) and frankly I don't think there's enough gas for any of the various muzzle devices available to make any noticeable difference in recoil or bounce. This is a quality A2 with a proper finish and it's not covered by machining marks like other cheapies on the market.

You can go wrong with CMMG. It didn’t have a crush washer, but i had a few extra laying around. The rest of these words are just to meeting the minimum character requirement to submit this reciew. I mean how do you expect to get reviews for like small parts if you require 200 characters. If I got a Disconnector spring, like how would I even describe that for more than 200 characters.

Gets the job done as expected. I have expensive devices on other rifles, but wanted something easy to be able to swap down the line and this does exactly that. Quality control seems fine; no glaring design issues or defects.
