I bought this for its folding capabilities but found it to be very comfy overall. Planning on replacing more of the milspec grips with this one in the future. The pivot is fairly tight and there is no wiggle at all.

I bought the FAB Defense Ergonomic Folding Pistol Grip to allow my rifle to have a smaller vertical silhouette for storage reasons. I sought to install this on my M&P Sport II (.223 / 5.56 if that matters to you), a simple process I thought. My setup has a Sylvan Arms Gen. 4 folding stock adapter, which improves upon the Gen 3 by closing the distance that existed between it and the lower receiver. This being established, I did not consider the "duck tail" feature on this pistol grip to provide some compatibility problems; the folding stock adapter and pistol grip's duck tail would collide as the pistol grip extends backwards beyond the lower receiver. I chose to solve this by marking the edge of the ducktail that extended beyond the lower receiver and sanding it down with a belt sander. Fit perfectly and didn't look like a mess. Now to the actual grip, the ergonomic ridges for my fingers feel way more comfortable than the stock pistol grip that came with my rifle. There is a button – that takes a lot of force to press – on the left hand side of the grip that will allow for the folding action to occur; it is sturdy and I do not fear that I would ever fold the grip on accident. Though folding it up takes quite a bit of effort, deploying it from the folded state is a breeze. There is no hardware (screws and such) that come with this product; I had to reuse the screw from the stock pistol grip but was unable to make use of the locking washer as it would interfere with the folding of the pistol grip. Will it really help me with storage? Probably not, depends on if I have a vertical grip or angled grip to dictate the vertical profile. But I can imagine that for the individual is looking for quick weapon access, this will definitely remove surface area for which your weapon could get snagged on.

I bought this for a folding AR9. It works great and feels decent when gripped right handed, but actually I’m a lefty and the AR is on a Gibbz left handed upper. The release button for the folding lock is right in the crease of my palm; which is annoying.Right handers will love this, but lefties will have their usual sighs in dealing with a product that was clearly not make with them in mind.

OK, I got this so that I could fit 2 AR15s in a travel case and this will do the trick. So far this is a good grip, it does not come with a mounting bolt, and there is no guarantee your old bolt will work. There is a narrow passage this bolt fits through to attach to your lower. If you need the correct bolt it is a 1/4-28 x 1" and it will work great. You will also need a 3/16" Hex Key.I got my mounting bolt at a local fastenal store and it was $.70, Part # 2123806After you have attached it – it is mostly solid but there is a small gap between the two pieces that can easily be shimmed with a piece of tape.

I received #'s 8 & 9 today and I couldn't be happier. The tripped my trigger when I saw them here. I purchased them and have been exceedingly pleased.

Once installed, the function of the FAB folding pistol grip is excellent. However, getting it installed is the problem. First there are no instructions and no hardware. You'll have to go get a 1/4" x 28 x 1" CAP screw to mount . Only a CAP screw will work, as the that is what the attachment base is recessed to use. Second you have to fold the grip back to tighten the screw. Last the end of the "backstrap" may extend past the back of your receiver and/or interfere with the seating of your back plate.
