It is reminiscent of the rigs worn in American Westerns in the 1950s and 60s. The 3″ wide belt is made from premium tan saddleleather rough side out with tan or havana brown full grain billets and cartridge loops of .44/.45 or .38/.357 caliber, centered on the belt for right or left-handed use, with a nickel-plated buckle. The belt body is tan with a choice of tan or havana brown billets and loops. Holster sold separately. Galco once again proves why they are a premier holster/gun belt manufacturer. The 1880 belt is extremely well made of thick leather with none of the scratches/markings you normally see in leather. The fit for the .45 LC shells is tight enough to hold the shells firmly, but still allow for easy withdrawal. The large buckle looks like it could take years of use and abuse and still function. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this purchase.Pros: Very well made, perfect leather qualityCons: None that I can find

Gallo provides excellent products and this product was as expected from Galco. Quality of materials is excellent and workmanship is outstanding. I expect to get many years of enjoyment out of it. My last gun belt is still good after 20 years. Unfortunately my waist size changed which required the teplacement belt.

Bought this belt, together with a strongside holster and a crossdraw to get started in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. This rig from Galco offers good quality at a reasonable price, which is somewhat rare for a CMS rig, because most prices border on the outrageous.The only concern I had with this belt is that the cartridge loops are so tight that I couldn't even force a .45 Colt round into them. I had to use bottleneck rifle cartridge to wedge into the loops to open them up enough to get the straight-walled rounds in. Actually thought perhaps the belt was mismarked, and had .38 loops. Contacted Galco customer support, who told me that this fit is normal, and just work with it. So I did, and finally got them sized to accept the .45s.

I would have preferred the recently discontinued two tone model, but this one is easy on the eyes. To make a long story short I tried 2 suppliers trying to get the two tone…actually had one in my hands. Too late to get one from Optics Planet but got the monotone which was tooo small. The folks at Optics took care of me and I appreciate that. My waist is 36" so I started out with 40" from the other supplier and wound up with a 46" from Optics. I wanted the option to wear it over my hunting coat. I have 3 extra holes to do that when wearing it over my jeans. Good product!Pros: Everything about this belt and holster setup is 1st rate.Cons: Sizing chart needs to be tossed in the weeds.
