Developed using a premium steerhide material, the Galco Side Snap Scabbard Pistol Holster retains the quick on-off snap loops that fit belts up to 1 1/2″. The open top design remains the same, with the addition of a reinforced mouth for smooth and easy one-handed return to the holster. The Galco Side Snap Handgun Scabbard is a slight butt-forward cant, in contrast to the steeper angle of the earlier version. This holster is of great quality but is something you would expect from Galco at this price point. What separates this holster from other outside the waistband holsters is its comfort and profile. It lays nicely with no bulge felt on the inside as is the case with many slotted belt through type holsters and weight distribution is improved. For my purpose, it works very well for my Colt 5" 1911 style pistol.JB Ohio

Quality construction and finish as one would expect from Galco (and at this price!). I am back on the site to get some EZ draw as I don't have the time to get my 1911 dialed in to the holster by manual means, as I am not a daily carrier. But since I take classes monthly I wanted a upgrade from Kydex for my top end Colt that would also allow me to remove the holster without having to remove my belt (and drop my pants in the process.)Hopefully I can update after a bit more time and few more rounds down range.Doc

appears very well made, good pistol fit and retention. nice leather. we sent it back since the slight forward rake was still too much for my wife's wrist, she needs neutral rake. most people would do fine with it.

I own several of the first generation Galco Side Snap Scabbard holsters. I love the combination of close to the body OWB fit and quick-detach design. There simply aren't that many other companies offering such a design and Galco really nails it with the combination of price and quality. I don't want to have to go through the process of undoing a belt to put a holster on, and paddle holsters don't pull the gun close to the body like pancake-style holsters. The Generation 2 design is arguably an improvement, and it seems as if they are taking a cue from Ritchie Leather's Close Quarter Quick Release, which is about a 30% more expensive. It's not a cheap holster, but it's also one that won't end up in your box o' holsters. As an added benefit, I've found that Glock 17/22 model is a perfect fit for the CZ 75.

This is a fantastic holster. Fit the Glock 27 like a charm. Being able to take it off and put it on without talking off your belt is awesome. GALCO makes a fine product. I bought the for my son for to carry the Glock 27 we got him for his graduation from the Police Academy. I still have my first Galco holster I bought in 1987 and it is still perfect.

Side Snap Scabbard Gen 2 is the best belt holster I've ever had for strongside carry. This is my 4th one. The quality is excellent, and standard break-in takes 3 days. With the veteran discount on top of the already low price, it is worth every penny. Also, the phone customer service is top notch. I highly recommend both this holster AND Optics Planet. What a winning combination !!!!!!!
