Galco Switchback Strongside/Crossdraw Leather Belt Holster

A hybrid design that combines the best elements of leather and synthetic, the Switchback is fully ambidextrous and can be carried in the strongside or crossdraw positions (as shown). The main body of the holster is constructed of layered synthetics, beginning with an outer layer of durable black ballistic nylon. Beneath that is closed cell foam that imparts stiffness and sturdiness to the holster body. Finally, a layer of 420 denier gunmetal-colored packcloth lines the holster. An ambidextrous exoskeleton” made of top grain steerhide allows the belt to be threaded through either side of the holster body in strongside or crossdraw positions, for right or left hand draw. The safety strap has a hammer slot (not available on models for single-action revolvers) and is reversible for ambidextrous use. I wanted the flexibility of a nylon holster and the durable good look of a leather holster. I got the best of both worlds in this one. My only gripe would be that it’s a stiff fit, but perhaps I simply need to work that leather for a bit. It sits on the hip nicely and is very secure.

This holster is great. Excellent construction, it looks fantastic and holds my Colt Python close to the hip. This is a solid, sharp looking holster from Galco that won't break the bank. I love the sale price from OpticsPlanet too! I highly recommend the Switchback holster.

I've been looking for a nice-looking, useful, and comfortable holster for my S&W 686. This holster fits the revolver great. It comes with a retention strap but the holster is just snug enough on the pistol that I don't have to use it. I've never had a crossdraw holster before but it felt natural from the moment I put it on. Besides that, it looks great like Wild Bill Hickok. I have several Galco holsters already and have always been satisified with their products.

Just received, fits very well and looks great. Now I just have to avoid toppling over sideways lol. A nice holster for actually wearing or transporting. Great price too. The hybrid construction is cool.

For the price, this is a great holster. It was tight at first, but I wrapped my revolver in plastic wrap and left it in the holster for a couple of days. It fits great now. Thumb strap retention. Wear it strongside or crossdraw; left or right side.
