The Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch is designed with the warfighter in mind and will work with any lower receiver designed to accept a mil-spec M16/M4 Carbine bolt catch. The increased surface area promotes ease of function when locking back the bolt or releasing the bolt after a magazine change. In addition, the extended controls add an increased functionality for left handed shooters who no longer have to break their grip to manipulate the bolt catch. Left handed shooters can easily reach the controls using the index finger of their left hand making magazine changes and locking the bolt back much more fast and efficient. Aggressive checkering covers the surface of the levers giving the Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch a textured surface that enables positive feedback to the shooters hand when being used with gloves or at night.     This is an awesome product to upgrade with for not much money compared to other upgrades. Gives a very generous amount of surface area on both sides of the lever. Not as necessary on the lower portion but having the extra surface on the part you use to release the bolt is really nice.

    This thing is pretty cool as the added real estate on the catch makes up for sloppy hand work by me. The knurling is substantial and helps out too. Like everything else made by Geissele, this is quality.

    It is just the right size. I’ve tried a few different ones and this is by far my favorite.

    I bought several of these and several Ambi mag releases. Except for my PSA, I could not use this product and the Ambi mag release together. You have to decide which you want.One other negative is that it comes with the lever and roll pin. For the price, a new spring and detent should be included.Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do and is very convenient.

    Just installed this…. but it is a huge pain in the butt to then change a trigger… especially if its a Geissele and you use their roll pin technique… because this will prevent you kicking out the small roll pin… you can only insert and remove pins from the right side of the lower when this is installed…

    The second flaw of my left hand Stag Arms AR-15 was the pitifully small bolt catch. The Geissele Maritime rectifies the issue of locking or releasing the bolt with your left index finger. The paddles are effective without snagging clothes or interfering with my Troy ambi mag release. A perfect solution.
