The Geissele Super 3-Gun Trigger is named so for a reason – to take down targets and the gold at 3 Gun competitions. Use these Rifle Triggers by Geissele in closed course competitions where quick target acquisition and swift follow-up shots reign supreme. This Geissele S3G Trigger has an incredibly short, light pull and reset and is a semi-automatic mix between a single-stage trigger and a traditional 2-stage trigger. While these triggers are remarkably effective at competitions, they are not recommended for on duty use or bench rest shooting. Please note, our triggers are designed for mil-spec AR15/M4 carbine rifles. Our AR15 triggers are not compatible with the Sig MPX/MCX weapons or Pistol Caliber Carbine AR15/M4 variants. Wow, just wow, and that is an understatement! This trigger definitely is not for the faint of heart and probably shouldn't be used by novice shooters. However, it is amazing, and super fast. It does have slight creep, but breaks nicely. I personally used the heavier weight spring that Geissele recommends and I don't believe that I would ever use the lighter weight spring for safety reasons! If you want to shoot in 3 gun this would be a great option. If you want to go to the range this would still suit you well. The biggest issue I have with this trigger is definitely the price, but there's no doubt in the quality/performance you are getting.

This trigger was the first trigger I’ve ever bought and installed myself. Easy to install with the help of youtube but man as soon as I took it to the range it put a smile on my face. Anyone who shoots my AR always talks about how insanely crisp and light my trigger is. You can shoot very fast, and accurately with it. Not so much for a beginner shooter though.

Before buying the SD-3G by Geissele, I heard MANY good things about the company, and boy were they on point! This trigger is very easy to install. And it’s 100x’s better than the mil spec trigger that came with my IWI Zion-15. Tip: For new shooters, stick with the 4.5 lbs pull weight spring.

Disregard the one 3 star review. The description clearly states it is a 3 gun trigger and best for CQB and fast follow ups. If you want a 2-stage bench rest trigger Geissele makes them. If you want a fast crisp trigger with no slop, grit, or creep, with a snappy reset get the S3G!

That's the best way I can describe it. Soft crisp. Once you start the pull, it's hard to let it go without dropping the hammer. I guess that's why they don't recommend it for certain applications. My sample consistently broke at 3.25lbs. It's a fast trigger. Sweet pull. Very unique compared to anything I've tried before. Perfect for a high quality blaster.

Now that I've had some time behind the gun with this trigger installed, it's time for a key update.I've owned/tried several G triggers and many other brands. For high-end triggers, I tend to prefer a lighter weight pull and that usually means using a lighter spring. The S3G comes with two spring weights for the trigger and one for the hammer.I decided to try this trigger with the lighter black spring first and that's when I wrote my "Soft Crisp" review. Let's be clear, no matter what spring you use, this is a super fast trigger! However, I am going to advocate using the heavy gold spring because the reset is so strong that it gives a forced reset effect that aids in quicker follow-up shots. I know it's impossible with this design, but somehow the pull feels lighter than the reset. With some practice, the split times are going to be even faster with the heavier spring. After break-in, the light spring gave a very light 2.75# average pull weight. This is down about 0.5lb from brand new install. Geissele said that when the springs settle the pull would lighten up and they did. I had no malfs of any kind with the light spring.Using the heavy gold spring brought the pull weight right at 5.0#. Feeling almost twice as hard to pull is usually a problem for me because I don't buy expensive, high-end triggers to end up with a heavy, mil-spec pull weight. However, after some use, it's down to 4.75# and it feels GREAT. It's the first trigger that I can recall that became faster after increasing the pull weight. I guess that's the beauty of the design. The trade-off is going to be added fatigue after long strings of fire. This trigger is installed in my muzzle comp/brake'd adjustable gas and optimized recoil system training carbine. Honestly, this is the only viable platform to take full advantage of the speed this trigger provides while allowing solid hits on target. Other AR's will climb off target really quick and that defeats the point. If you want a duty type CQB trigger that is 90% as fast but with a more predictable break that very crisp and still smooth as butter, get the Single Stage Precision (SSP) from Geissele. If you want 70% of the speed of the S3G and need to take longer aimed shots (300yd+), the SSA or SSA-E is your trigger. Special Forces use them and for good reason.
