I could go on and on about how amazing this thing is. But I’ve had no problems, in approx 3500 rounds with this optic. Super rugged, and just as bright as my RMR. Until trijicon comes out with an enclosed emitter optic, I see no reason to run any other optic if you’re looking for an enclosed emitter pistol optic at an affordable price. Haven’t tested the Steiner but with its weird European settings and footprint I double it’ll be as popular. Same for the Acro P2. While it may be “bombproof” (so it the 509) it doesn’t get anywhere near the battery life, doesn’t have a solar fail safe backup, and is more expensive for no reason as the materials are not better, titanium beats aluminum all day. Maybe the electronics are better who knows, but imo the few 509T’s including the one I own that I have tried are spectacular. And I think enclosed emitter optics are going to be the future

I love benefits of the closed emitter. Use it for my concealed carry and never have to worry about debris getting into the window. Also holds up well to change in temperature (doesn’t fog up) going from my car to outside etc. the window size is great for competitive shooting as well

I bought this for my PCC along with a Midwest Industries co-witness mount (RMR footprint). Problem is, once you add the included adapter plate, it raises the optic an extra 1/8” and ruins the cowitness. While I really like the MWI mount, I would recommend finding one this will mount directly to.

This is my second 509T. I have one on an offset mount on my AR for years and 1000's of rounds with no issues. So when it came time to get an optic for my Beretta 1301, I didn't think twice
