Description

Most red dot sights aren’t of much use from 100+ yards out due to the large dot reticle. The Holosun Paralow HS503G Reticle Red Dot Sight aims to fix that issue. These Red Dot Sights by Holosun feature a patent-pending ACSS reticle that uses a large chevron which allows the user’s eye to pick it up easily for close quarters shooting, but the tip of the chevron acts as a small aiming point at longer distances. No longer do you have to choose between a close range red dot sight or a long range one. Plus, the Holosun Paralow HS503G Reticle Red Dot Sight contains three BDC dots underneath the chevron which allow for a remarkable 600 yards of bullet drop compensation in 7.62 NATO or 5.56 NATO calibers. You’ll love the incredibly unique qualities of the Holosun Paralow HS503G Reticle Red Dot Sight, and it’s one of the best optic options available for both short-range and long-range engagements. I’ve had a lot of time behind this optic. I’ve seen reviews with people saying this optic needs/has to be paired with a magnifier. I have mine paired with a magnifier but I have to disagree. You can easily engage human size targets out to 400 yards without a magnifier. I don’t have access to land longer than 400 yards. I believe I would have no issue using this optic without a magnifier out to 600 yards. You might not get a hit on steel first shot at 600. But the reticle’s bdc is giving you a consistent place to hold as you adjust for wind and watch for your impacts. A standard red dot even at 400 yards you’re holding on clear glass with no consistent place to hold. If that makes sense. The only issue I have, when you magnify the reticle (3x) it can cover up smaller sized targets at different distances. Let’s say you set a target up, simulating a person using cover snap shooting at you 200 yards away. Technically your hold would be the center of the chevron. The chevron at 200 will cover the targets head. Which can make it difficult to see when the target is peeking/exposing themselves around the cover. The other scenario would be if your trying to shoot targets smaller than human size around 200 yards (pop can). The chevron will completely cover the small target. It’s not that you can’t make hits on it. IMO its pros/cons. Every optic has their own. If you learn how to use the ranging features in the reticle. It’s pretty dang accurate. Good enough to make hits without a range finder. I haven’t done drop tests on it. I have banged it up from rucking and running around. It’s always held zero. I think this is an awesome optic. The reticle is sized perfectly for CQB which is 100 yards and in. It allows you to make accurate hits out to distances efficiently. I highly recommend this optic. Btw if you have astigmatism this reticle will look clean.

I wrote this review because of negative reviews that are at best "Atypical". I have been using Holo s since they came on the market and they did torture tests on youtube. I have never had an issue with any of them. In Fact I prefer them over my aimpoints. They are very clear and durable. My 503G is located on my Mutant and delivers repeated hits at 400 yrds on a man sized torso target mounted on a hill in the standing position with steel case. I am not an expert shot and I m over 50. Yes, it was a pleasant surprise! Maybe I m not that bad? Right rifle, right optic and right Regular Guy.

Great red dot for the money. There's a good range of brightness, and I love the shake awake feature. The acss reticle is a nice touch if you're on the fence between getting a scope or a red dot. The glass is pretty clear and buttons are firm.

great sight, in my opinion they could charge more for how good this red dot actually is. the only thing I did not take into account was my astigmatism which made the reticle look awful but realized it was me not the dot.

First off, it’s an HS503, it’s what you’d expect from Holosun. The glass is fine, the dot is bright and easy to acquire, and it’s lightweight. The reticle, on the other hand, needs some explanation. First off, you need to have a 3x or better magnifier (I use a 5x). The BDC is pointless without magnification. Once magnified, however, it’s quite good. There are no visual aberrations or distortion and the BDC is easy to use. Zero the top of the chevron at 100 yards/meters and consult the included BDC chart for your caliber.

The Primary Arms ACSS reticle with CQB and BDC may be the best reticle in existence. I was at a gun show a couple years ago and I picked up an M4 I noticed to check out the attached ACOG. It was amazing and I decided to get one. I looked around online and couldn’t find any with the same reticle as the M4 I had seen. A few months later I saw a YouTube video reviewing the Primary Arms 3X prism scope. The title of the video said something about a $300 ACOG so I watched it found out the reticle I wanted was made by Primary Arms. I did some research and ended up going with a PA 3X prism scope for about 1/4 what I was about to pay for an ACOG. The ACSS reticle is very easy and intuitive to learn and highly effective. About a month after I got the 3X for one rifle, I changed the red dot on my home defense rifle with a PA Cyclops. A few months ago, I was looking for something small for my MP5 clone. I found out this Holosun was available with my favorite reticle so I had to get it. I installed and it was perfectly zeroed right out of the box. It’s a really good subgun or PCC option.
