It's my first time reloading. I purchased this along with Hornady bullets, shells, dies, etc. I watched the Hornady YouTube videos and some others, and my first batch of bullets came out perfectly. If you follow the instructions then this is pretty easy to set up and use, though of course it does take some trial and error. Overall, a great product!

Was originally going to buy a dillon. Their sales department was so rude I had to hang up thinking that what good is their warranty if their sales were like this now that I have the hornady lock and load AP I couldn't be happier.

I have had this press for a while now, probably have ran a little north of 10k rounds on it. Mine is setup with a case feeder and I am just now starting to pay with bullet feeder dies. The case feeder is a little tricky to setup but once you get the hang of it it runs pretty smoothly (except with 300 blackout I have trouble with those still). The press itself is fairly straightforward, easy to setup and easy to use. The powder measure works well with most powders and the primer setup has so far been superb. My only complaint would be the cost to setup for different calibers, but I guess its still a bit less than a dillon. I do wish Hornady had done their homework and made the AP press the same height (ram stroke to dies) as the single stage so the dies could be swapped back and forth without resetting them but it only takes a minute.

I have been reloading for 50 years on a single stage RCBS ROCK CHUCKER and have always wanted a progressive press. After retirement I decided to purchase the Hornady Lock N Load AP.After loading 500 rounds of 9mm I am very pleased with the quality and ease of operation of the press. Hornady's products are always top notch and have never disappointed me.

To begin, this is my first turret-style press. I evaluated Dillon, looked at Lee, and read as much as I could spare time for. I've always liked Hornady products so decided to buy this press. It's been a learning process to say the least. The main challenge has been trying to keep track of all the processes that are going on pretty much simultaneously. In the beginning, I tended to forget about priming cases, causing spills and messes. Got that down to under 3/100 cases and still improving. Really, the press is well designed and made but could use more/better documentation. I know there are numerous YouTube videos, both from Hornady as well as everyone else that's ever used one, but I've yet to find a well authored and videoed one about the PTX inserts and the exact setup of the powder system – things like considerations for how to get the fit the PTX limiter. It's very sensitive to where and how you setup the top and bottom portions of the dispenser system. Still not sure it's in the right place – getting the expander insert for 9mm today and will see what that brings. All in all, a great machine, though. Once you start to get the hang of it, it runs right along. Highly recommended – just take your time, do your homework, and you'll be fine. Don't force anything – if it jams, stop and figure out why and disassemble parts as needed to relieve the jam. I didn't once and broke one of the auto-indexing pawls. Easy fix but annoying!Happy reloading!
