The Lyman Cleaner arrived quickly and in good condition. Though it is relatively small,It is large enough to accept most hand gun parts, and rifle parts other than the barrel. The price is modest for the value. I highly recommend this Item.I have only used it once, so I have not encountered any prolems.Pros: Versatile & compactCons: none that I can see so far

Every company I have worked in for 30 years has had industrial ultrasonic cleaners, so I wasn't expecting too much from a homeowner model that costs 1/4 as much for equivalent capacity. I was pleasantly surprized! Most of the performance and features are excellent. I own many Lyman products and have admired them for good design and good engineering over the years. Lyman is solid! This ultrasonic cleaner has plenty of agitation power, nice distribution of sonic energy throughout the bath, quiet operation, nice stainless steel tank, excellent parts basket, good drain, nice controls and attractive appearance. The lid works well in that it keeps steam (from the heated cleaning bath) in, and the condensate drips nicely back into the tank when you open the lid. Bottom line: It cleaned my parts. And did it well. However, when I was drying the unit with a paper towel one time, to put it away, I pressed a little too hard on the plastic lid and snapped off a plastic hinge for the lid. I assure you, I wipe kitchen counters with much more force than this, so it was not abuse. Looking at the broken parts, the molded hinge features are none too beefy considering the brittle plastic material. Or maybe this is a case of poor quality control in the molding process of manufacturing. I have pulled a support ticket at the Lyman web site, told them of the problem and asked for a replacement lid. We will see….Other than that, the tank heaters are a little weak. Set the heat the night before, go to sleep and then use the unit. You'll be fine. (Maybe I exagggerate, but it takes at least 3 hours.) But the lid is tight-fitting, so long heating is not a problem as far as loss of cleaning solution. It's a homeowner model, so I accept this.Overall, this is another fine Lyman product (made in China by Intertek), that takes advantage of Lyman's high standard of engineering and large sales volume to deliver a nearly-industrial-grade product at a very good price. I recommend it.Pros: power, size, controls, convenience, beautyCons: fragile lid, weak heater

I bought this unit so I could clean fired brass before they were resized. This way they would be more uniform, keep my dies cleaner, and avoid scratched cases from residues. After sonic cleaning, and resizing they go into a Frankford tumbler, and come out like new! After about a dozen uses (a year and a few months) the basket began to crack. I repaired with Acraglas numerous times, finally the lifting handles broke, so I called Lyman, spoke with a pleasant gentleman named AL. He said the warranty is one year from date of purchase, but he could sell a new basket for $35.00 ( I don't know what the shipping cost is because I declined.) After spending $350.00 on the unit, I'm disappointed the basket needs replacing after a dozen uses, which for me is ever other year.

Bought this unit 3 years ago use it about once per year just gone to use it the drain tap has been leaking and flooded slowly over time the electronics in the bottom of the unit causing a dead short and now it's scrap. It seems You're paying for the name not quality

From a beginner in the field of ultrasonic cleaning this could be viewed as a great buy due to its low price. However it is purely an underpowered case cleaner. The ultrasonic power is low, it takes long time to heat up, all the parts are plastic and flimsy. Not to mention ultrasonic energy gets absorbed by plastic parts. Like i said to a complete an utter idiot this is a great buy, but with anyone with any sense would go with a more proper unit. To clean gun parts you really need atleast 4-5 inch liquid depth, this unit gives you 2-2.5. It also requires you to lay the gun on its side which is a HUGE NO NO in ultrasonic cleaning because it blocks ultrasonic energy since it lays close to the transducers and also allows redeposition of particles to flow freely bock onto the gun part because it has no room on the bottom to collect bc the gun parts are LAYING ON THE BOTTOM.
