I have to admit I was skeptical about this stock when it debuted. Lets face it- most times in life you get what you pay for and this stock was not exactly in the price range of the higher priced stocks or chassis options out there. After reading a lot of reviews and talking to a lot of guys about this stock I was reassured that it was one of those anomalies in life where you get much more than what you pay for! This stock replaced the lackluster Hogue stock on my Remington 700 AAC-SD. It free-floats the barrel (with a little room to spare) and is very sturdy in general. The fit and finish of the stock itself is nice. I chose the FDE color for a little more "sandbox cred" and it looks great on my rifle. So if I had a gripe about this purchase it would be that the "accessories", or in my opinion "necessities" to complete the stock- and take full advantage of its potential- are sold separately. I can't imagine anyone wanting to retain the factory bottom metal and hinged floor plate on the 700. I like the detachable magazine offered by Magpul so that was a must for this purchase as well. It only comes with the lowest cheek riser available for this stock- the others are sold separately. I find my cheek weld is too low for the scope I'm running right now and would like a little higher perch on the rifle. I truly thought it came with a few different ones to try. Not a huge deal- but disappointing. It does come with the pieces to change length of pull- which is very intuitive and a nice touch. I wound up buying a few things to make the stock work better including their bipod mount (it's aluminum not plastic for those of you interested), their qd sling stud for the rear of the stock, and the cheek risers. My Harris bipod works well on the front of my rig and I like having the qd for the sling. And for the part most people are most interested in- performance. This rifle is a 1 MOA at 100 yds. shooter and always has been with the right ammo (Federal GMM 168gr. for factory loads) and the right conditions. I am still working out the ideal torque setting for the action screws and a few other variables but I was able to shoot a 3/4" group at 100 yards with this stock on my last range trip. I really feel the benefit of this stock versus the factory Hogue will be exponentially better at longer range. I'm really pleased with the results so far!All in all I really like this stock. It's a great value for the money- even if it lacks a few essentials out of the box. It changes the ergonomics of the rifle and allows a more custom fit. You'd be hard pressed to find a better option for the money.

I was searching for bottom metal to convert my Remington 700 short action to use detachable box magazines when I ran across this Magpul stock. For an equal or lesser cost (especially after accounting for the milling expense required to properly fit most bottom metal) this stock solved the magazine conversion challenge perfectly. The fit and finish of the Magpul stock, along with the magazine well and magazines, is outstanding. Furthermore I am now able to adjust the length of pull and I'll have the option of adding accessories using M-Lock fittings. I couldn't be happier with this solution!

The "processing order" took so long the seasons changed. By the time the item transitioned to "shipping" the ATF banned barrels and replaced them with floppy pool noodles. But when it finally arrived all liberals had started growing feathers. But the stock itself is spot on, grade A, no knife needed to cut the steak good stuff. A stock so stocky corn is jealous. I love it. Did I mention I got it in THE GOOD LORDS FAVORITE COLOR? Yup OD green. Nuff said. It's a knockout. Like Logan Paul fragile knockout.

I replaced the hogue stock on my Remington 700 308 sps tactical with this stock and it has made a huge difference. It fit perfect and was very easy to I stall. I like the feel of it and how sturdy the forend is. I got a great deal from optics planet and shipping was fast. I would definitely recommend the product.

For years I put off upgrading the stock for my new Remington 700 SPS Tactical. I don't use the rife a lot and could not justify the upgrade cost until the Magpul Hunter 700 stock came out. The stock feels, looks and functions perfect and with great fit, finish and support for accessories. Adjusting to a longer pull and higher cheek riser was simple as was adding a bipod, but be sure and buy the bipod mount and extra risers. I never write reviews, but this product is such a good value, I had to share the news. My only complaint is Magpul accessories are pretty costly.

I purchased a Remington 700 In 308 it had a top load ADL magazine which was fine at first when at the range but when hunting the rounds left in the gun had to be cycled out with the bolt. I wanted to upgrade the gun and get some accuracy out to 800yds. The flimsy OEM composite stock was not a free floating stock and the hunter 700 by magpie was. The hunter stock also has a trigger Gaurd with detachable box magazine kit which was easy to install and the whole stock and DBM conversion took me 15minutes. All the parts come in the kit and no cutting or trimming was require. The 5 round magazine that came with it works great I fact the bolt is smoother now and loads and ejects with no problem at all. I give this set up 5 stars. The hunter stock was $240 and the trigger Gaurd baseplate and magazine kit was $65. Awesome. Hope this helps
