Great light mount for Surefire Scout or Streamlight ProTac Rail mount. Works exceptionally well magpul handguards. Gets light far enough forward and locks up very solid. Will not work with Arisaka light bodies.

I have these on several ARs. I mount them at 2 o’clock positioned to be even with or just behind the muzzle break. It’s a rock solid mount, light weight, and keeps the light in close. Aluminum feels much more secure than plastic. Good price here at Optics Planet, too.

I'm going to start off by saying it does not fit the scout m600df unless you wanna file down your light. Also very disappointed that it does not fit sure fire Tape switch. It does put my light as far forward as possible, but doesn't do me any good if I have to extend my arm that far to hit the light.

This mount fits neither my streamlight or my scout. It's intended fit is clear, but the mount is far too small to actually work without filing it down substantially. The build quality is pretty good which makes my manual mechanical interventions even more difficult (lol)

I bought this to mount a Streamlight Protac rail mount which it says it is compatible. I'm not sure if Streamlight changed their design but Magpul should update their description, I now have a useless mount. It does appear well built and would recommend if you had a Surefire.

Magpul should have used all 4 of the light's mounting screw holes to secure the light to the mount but they only used 2 of the smaller ones. The issue with this is the screw holes on the light base are already very small and the aluminum is very soft, and using two of the small holes instead of all 4 (which could have for sure been done) may seem ok in theory but it doesn't stand the test of time. Since the light is mounted in a way where the stress is mostly placed on only two veryyyy small screws the light will get loose after many rounds unless you're shooting 22cal, anything with a decent punch will continually loosen the screws no matter how much locktite you use or how careful you are with torquing down the screws, and after about 200 rounds the screw holes were useless and starting to strip. All the other heavy duty mounts available for these lights use the two bigger mounting screw holes on the bottom side of the light. I will say that even the original picatinny mount that comes installed on the light from factory uses the two smaller side screw holes and that mount will also fail as well. My suggestion is to look at other heavy duty mounts, this one isn't designed to last.
