The Magpul Industries STR Mil-Spec Carbine Stock is a drop-in replacement stock for your favorite AR-15/M4 carbines using mil-spec receiver extension tubes. These AR15 Stocks by Magpul Industries feature two water-resistant battery storage tubes located on either side of the stock and are accessible in any stock position via a removable rubber plug. What's not to like about this stock? It has a comfortable cheek weld, battery storage, and it has the tension lever so it doesn't rattle. I've used this on every AR build I've done. I hope magpul never discontinues this product.

Upon opening the box, the stock has some polymer from where it was manufactured. No big deal. Magpul supplied a dummy round for installation. DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED DUMMY ROUND. Use a screwdriver and pry the small "lock"? bar up. The cheek weld is 10/10 and it offers zero play compared to the MOE stock.All in all. 10/10. Best bang for your money in my opinion.

Fits great,fits well, but throw away the plastic bullet that comes with it.I used a flat bladed screwdriver to hold the spring down to install.You can look up the install procedure on youtube. Just search for Magpul STR install

Magpul makes a lot of great furniture for various applications. I purchased this one for my AR9. Out of the box I noticed it had a great feel and balance.After installing I dropped my head against the check well and sighting was ever so easy. I have a Sig RedDot with elevated mount so if needed I can use my iron sights.For me looking through the RedDot was effortless every time.I will purchase again for my other guns!

I ordered a PSA complete lower and it came with the Magpul STR stock.I ordered 2 more complete lowers and one came with the MOE MAGPUL $35 stock.I ordered a Stealth Grey STR MAGPUL STOCK immediately as there is no comparison between those 2 Magpul stocks. Try finding anything black in MAGPUL right now. The grey is CLOSE enough in color and I can paint it. The funny thing was this rattle I kept hearing. PSA doesn't tell you it stores batteries.So one day I really looked at it and pulled the rear plug out and the plastic 5.56 round fell out. It never would have occurred to me to use it to install the stock as it took about 10 seconds when I received the grey one to install it. I honestly forgot what I used to to depress the metal position rod, but it worked quickly. Reckon I didn't read the instructions! It's a stock!I also ordered and installed the .75 rubber butt pad.All I can say is that all three STR stocks with the .75 butt pad feel perfect.! The cheek weld is perfect. 75% OF any accessories on my AR15 and AR 10 DPMS builds are MAGPUL BECAUSE THEY GET IT.They make dependable excellent fitting products that WORK. You forget about the price as soon as you start shooting your build frequently.Just great products from a great company and my money is going towards an American Citizens pay. I usually build my own lowers from stripped receivers or 80% rs, but I can't build an LR/SR DPMS .308 complete lower with a 2 stage nickel BORON killer trigger, A GEN3 RECEIVER, MAGPUL STR STOCK ETC. FOR $399 +$17 shipping (and a LIFETIME GUARANTEE). All 3 of the Aero Precision M5 Uppers I did build fit perfectly tight there is not any movement at all between the PSA lowers and M5 uppers.I took a chance and it worked all 3 times (usually not the case)! I'll update this post as I get a few thousand rounds through each build.

That this company is clearly driven to be the leading edge in imagination, design, and understanding of the rifle, the people who use it, and what they need from it. This stock is an example of all this, it does its job quite well and the areas of relief and reinforcement are well thought out.as is the position and design of other parts that may be attached to it by the owner. I especially like the storage area;I I keep a fire kit in mine; matches, patches etc.,and a sharp edge wire, etc, inside all well padded. As an old Ranger, I know fire can be more important things to have on you on some dark hilltop than batteries you will have elsewhere anyway.‘nough said. airborne !
