  1. Legacy Reviewer

Most gun owners believe that a bore brush is a bore brush. This is a fallacy. One has a choice between brass and nylon. While many see a nylon brush as suitable for an older firearm, I find it is quite usable for a modern day gun. The Otis nylon brush cleans as well as a brass brush and it definitely will not damage any barrel. The Otis brush is sized so that it is a somewhat tough pull through the barrel, thus ensuring a good clean. It is recommended to use the Otis gun cleaning rod, but anyone with a screw-in receptor will work.Pros: Ease of use, no possible barrel damageCons: None

Have used Otis Technology bore brushes for many years. I started using the brass brushes but after trying the nylon ones I realized they did a great job without any possibility of marring the barrel. Traditionally the nylon ones were thought to be for older firearms. I find them great for the latest barrels.
