If you have something of value that needs protection – These products will do what you need. They're NOT luggage for your next vacation. This is a great example of USA quality and design. Lots of companies may use the term "professional" quality. These are professional lifetime units. They are great for sensitive electronics, gun cases, anything you want to keep clean, dry and in one piece. The upfront cost may seem high but it will keep the content protected for a lifetime.Pros: Lifetime Gaurantee – USA made – High Quality – Waterproof – Cons: Heavy

The only con I can see is that the laptop bag setup Pelican offers for this case can not be bought as an accessory. It has to be purchased with the luggage bag inside. I bought this case mostly for my SLR camera and all the expensive lenses I have so I purchased the padded divider accessory with it. Like most digital photographers I need my laptop as well. But I was able to make a laptop case that secures inside the lid.I have several other Pelican cases and they never dissapoint! This case is by far the best I could find. Perfect size for carry-on on flights (I'd never check my laptop or camera gear) since Pelican designed it to perfectly meet FAA max carry-on size. The slide out, locking handle and wheels make this case even better. I highly recommend this excelent product and as always highly recommend Optics Planet.Pros: Durable, well constructed!Cons: Laptop bag for inside lid can't be bought as accessory

First off, I really suggest buying the 1510 case WITHOUT the pick n' pluck foam because that foam is a one-time use kind of thing. You pluck/cut out the space for what you have currently and that's it. If you get new gear/lenses you'd probably have to buy new foam. If you're like me where you have a wish list of lenses and things, it's a smarter choice to buy the 1510 case without the foam and then invest into the padded dividers for this case. The padded dividers can be velcroed and adjusted anytime. Anyway, for me it was either ThinkTank or Pelican. I ultimately went for Pelican because ThinkTank makes me look like a tourist and those ShootSacs do nothing for me. I know the female photographers will immediately say that it's too bulky to lug around, not feminine enough, not light enough, or something along those lines. And that's fine, to each his/her own. What really sold it for me was Pelican's lifetime warranty and that you can bring the case with you on the plane. Being able to bring all my gear with me onto the plane is a huge advantage since there's $5k+ in that case and I dare not trust some luggage handler to toss my case with the other luggages. And of course there's that inner-nerd in me that just wants to look like some bad-ass secret agent every time I open/close my case. Those double-latches lock sound so awesome. Also it's built for durability, I mean just read the features description for the case! Pros: lifetime warranty from pelican, maximum size for carry-on at airports, bullet-proof, fire-proof, makes you look like someone from SWAT team when you set it down and open it, automatic pressure release valve, rolling wheels, TWO handles to easy carrying, double latches for securityCons: custom nameplate isn't free? no real cons honestly

Wish there was a design your own program and ways you could integrate with battery chargers, media storage. I like Pelican products just wishing for even more.Pros: Well designed with wheels, handles and security features. Floats. Cons: Probably won't survive a nuclear blast but up to that you're good.

I own four Pelican cases. Two of this model which has wheels, a long gun model with wheels, plus a smaller model of this without wheels. The military uses Pelican cases to transport their sensitive gear, so if it's good enough for them who put it through extreme conditions, having it tossed around by baggage hangers is not a problem. Downside it that it is heavy, around 13 lbs for this model and 23 lbs for the long gun case. I use two master locks to secure it, the cases are usually weighing near 50 lbs when I am flying. If I am transporting ammo, which is heavy I do not use all the foam, instead I use a cardboard custom sized box filler so the a month don't shift. This is an excellent case and when transporting firearms or ammo it must be checked in, and often transported with oversized baggage free. In most sports it is placed separate from the generally, depending at whatever airport back wall with oversized or at customer service where you need to show a claim check or ID. Different airlines have different weight limits on ammo. Alaska airlines allow 50 lbs on most flights, many others only allow 15 lbs. firearms must be declared and a copy of a signed form the carrier supplies must be placed in the bag. Some airports want to inspect what's inside if declaring firearms or ammo, others do not when checking it in. My smaller Pelican case with camera equipment is not checked in and it passes TSA without a problem. Great case, worth every penny for peace of mind and safety.
