Pelican has transported my weapons around the world without any incidents, the 1700 case is capable of securing two SBRs with optics, it would be wonderful if pelican offered foam internal cutouts from computer generated measurements

As with all Pelican products, this is a quality case. You do get what you pay for, and when I compare it to my cheaper cases, there is no comparison. It just depends on what you are looking for and what you are trying to protect. No point putting a $7000 precision rifle in a $100 case to throw in the hold of an airplane, nor is there a reason to put a Hi-Point (sorry all you Hi-Point fans) in a $300 case.

After some extensive research I found this case from Pelican to house my Kimber 84M when traveling out west to hunt. Please note, a rifle will not fit unless you takedown the stock from the barreled action, BUT, if you do the case is wide enough to fit both parts with the action scoped. There was room enough to make a cutout to hold a box of bullets and the whole thing weighs about 25 pounds. As long as your checked bag is under 62 linear inches and 50 pounds it will not incur a dreaded $75 "oversize" baggage fee (on top of whatever your airline is ripping you off for to check the bag in the first place). I feel confident that my very expensive rifle will be safe from baggage handlers in this case.

This is a great case for the money. If you take the time to properly cut the foam for whatever the case will protect, I don't foresee any way your goods could get damaged. I would strongly recommend this case to anyone who flies with their firearms as it provides peace of mind that your guns will arrive in the same condition in which they left.Pros: Great looking, extremely durable, offers excellent firearm protectionCons: One of my latches is difficult to latch/unlatch

this is my first pelican case, and i must say it wasnt my last. i was so impressed with the quaility, i went and bought another (1750) for my bolt action. the 1700 has enough space for my AR w/6 mags, Glock w/4 mags. room for optics and quite a bit more. Pros: rugged, air/water tight.Cons: none

Great product, multi SBR gun capabilities, used under extreme weather conditions, loadout simplified, ridged construction, security/locking capabilities for TSA domestic and international travels, I would recommend
