Obtained case in very reasonable time, as usual, from Optics Planet. I wanted a case that did not advertise itself 'as a rifle case,' and this one fit the bill beautifully! The first day I showed up at the range with it, the gent at the next spot over asked me 'if I took requests!':-) While I already owned a perfectly serviceable soft-sided case, due to newly passed blue state 'hissey-fit -vs -SCOTUS' anti-gun laws, I was advised a 2-lockable hard shell case was advised to travel to range with. This case is perfect and I highly recommend it!My only caution is that you will want to learn how to cut and paste together portions of the three guitar-shaped foam inserts that come with the case. For those as unfamiliar with such a process as I was, briefly, lay your rifle in the desired place in the case with two foam inserts below it and outline the rifle on the top piece with a marker. The idea is to have a 'cut-out' in the shape of your rifle such that top foam will surround and secure your rifle, as it rests on the lower foam. After realizing that my old box-cutter was not long enough, I learned that a much longer 18mm 'snap-off blade knife' worked well to cut through the foam rifle outline to the depth of the bottom piece of foam supplied. Savior customer support was helpful with a video that got me started, but could not recommend how to glue the desired sections of foam together. An old friend who is an expert upholsterer recommended '3M spray adhesive' to fuse together desired sections of the foam inserts. I used the 'cut-out' of my rifle to 'protect' the lower piece of foam from the spray adhesive, which needs to go on both sides of foam used. After ~ 24h the stench of adhesive wore off, & things are just fine! I have one extra of the original foam inserts should I wish to use the case for another rifle, and Savior can sell you more foam inserts. Finally I learned that TSA-cable locks fit through the latch holes supplied with the case. Frankly these are obviously not remotely secure as a larger, sturdier lock, but are only there to show that 'I have the case locked' and I am following the laws. Otherwise, as with my original soft-sided case, this case will always be 'under my direct control.'

It is what it is. It's a case that you could definitely put a guitar or in my case a gun. I had seen pictures of it online and they appeared to have more room than you actually get. I was able to make room for 1 AR, a few magazines and possibly a handgun or couple more mags. I can tell you though I don't think it's a case you'd want to take to the range. It's definitely on the bulky side but you can also tell whatever you put in it is going to stay safe in most situations.

I bought the brown case, because it appears lighter in color on the pictures. However, it is really dark and kinda ugly in person. The case itself is built well, seems sturdy and should do the job. I recommend, just know you're not getting the brown case that is pictured.

The primary reason I purchased this was for a simple, unassuming case that wouldn’t draw unnecessary attention in an apartment complex, nor at the airport. Slapped a few stickers on it, scuffed it a bit, and it looks like a genuine hippie guitar case – and what hippie wouldn’t lock his guitar up from potential damage and theft (it has to places to use padlocks). Two flights in, and I’d say it’s worked well. Additionally, I don’t get weird looks from that one old lady that doesn’t like me in the complex either. So win-win.

Mine is a much darker brown than shown, I like it! I haven’t cut the foam to shape yet, but the case is roomy and deep. It’s a neat idea, nobody should pay much attention to you carrying a “guitar” case. It seems reasonably strong and has several latches..

Awesome case for discreet transportation of your rifle. I live around a lot of hoplophobic neighbors and have had a few of them freak out when i'm loading my range gear into my truck. Not anymore with this rifle case. Just loading up to head to "band practice". Plan to buy a few more of these so I can move more equipment discreetly.
