I bought a Sig P229 chambered in 40 caliber. I read that it could be converted to a 357 Sig round by changing the barrel. The mags were the same. Got the barrel and five minutes later I was shooting 357 Sig. Barrel from Optic Planet was perfect like every I have ordered from them.

Converted my P229 .40 to .357 Sig using only this barrel. First one that arrived had a defective feed ramp but it was remedied and the second one functions flawlessly. Highly recommend this for an OEM replacement.

The barrel is a true drop in conversion from 40 S&W to 357 Sig. No additional fitting or modifications are needed. The gun runs great with barrel with no malfunctions. The sights on the P229 40 S&W will put the 357 Sig shot group slightly lower at 15 yards but it is easily corrected.

Dropped right into my P229 Equinox .40, although your results may vary as Sig states that some fitting may be required. First time out at the range with the new to me pistol I was placing great groups.

Have to remove Lci on slide to use in California p229. Is it just me or is there some special barrel that I have to get for my California P229. There's absolutely no way I can see this working without having to remove the loaded chamber indicator and file it down towards flush but it will leave a gap when I put in my 40 Smith and Wesson Barrel back in since it has a cut out specifically for the loaded chamber indicator.
