I see a lot of people calling the IR illumination too dim or only good for close range, I think this may depend on what type of NVD you have.I have a SiOnyx Aurora Pro, and it picks up the IR illumination pretty good, 25 yards if not a bit more… Switching modes is very easy as well, the '300 lumen' white light is bright for what it is. The IR laser itself shines bright well past 100 yards. So for most people wanting something that will work with NVDs to see/shoot at ranges out to maybe 100 yards or even a bit further, this will work great… Unless perhaps your NVD doesn't pick up the illumination as well, I can't speak for everyone in this regard. But the Aurora Pro seems to pick up a wide variety of IR illumination devices quite well…Cons: The tail cap is not standard TLR, so you have less interchangeability with older/other systems… Also the mounting screw/bracket, is different, they are both smaller. The bolt is a smaller diameter, so don't be like me and buy a larger 'rifle kit' screw for this then find out it's not the right size/threads…Overall I'm keeping it on one of my short AR pistols, its right at home on it.

I have mounted the Streamlight TLR-VIR II Weapon Flashlight and IR Laser on three different firearms to test its function on different weapons. The added weight does appear to assist with recoil for both 9 mm and 45 caliber. The light has withstood the recoil of 45 well so far with about 100 rounds fired so far. I have found several companies that make holsters to fit the light. I have yet to purchase one yet. The white light is effective and works well so far. I have not tested in a darker environment to see if it is too over powering. I have not yet tested the IR capability.

I purchased this for the laser but was amazed at how bright the IR flash light is. On a over cast night in darkness it is bright enough to have my gen 3 pvs 7 actually turn its protection on. I do wish it had a option to just run the laser.

It took 3 weeks to get it, but I like it. It is a flood from my feet forward, so definitely not intended for any forward throw just a massive spill. The laser works well though!

First and foremost, Optics Planet was great about my order! Even as shipping times have gone long because of the pandemic, I still recieved my order in 2 days! I also live in the boonies. The light however did not live up to my expectations for the price. The white light is great. Construction and quality are excellent. The IR light only illuminates about 15 feet from the lense. So do not count on the IR flashlight to spot anything with your NV. The IR laser works fine at well over 100 yards, but you have to sight in at night. Unless you are using an independent IR light source you can only sight in at around 12 feet from your muzzle. I bought this unit more for the IR light and laser than the white light. The IR side of the light is a bit disapointing.

Good light but the ir not the greatest. At least the one I got isn’t that great.
