The Strike Industries OPPRESSOR Universal is a blast shield that works with almost any muzzle device on the market that has a maximum outer diameter of 25.00mm (0.98). This OPPRESSOR U version works just like the rest of the SI OPPRESSOR family and redirects blast and sound while maintaining the recoil reduction of muzzle devices. Designed with a SI proprietary 3-lug quick detach base, the OPPRESSOR Universal is easily installed and removed with a push and a slight turn. Install SI OPPRESSOR Universal 3-lug QD base, the included correct sized crush washer, properly set the timing/alignment of your muzzle device and you are ready to go. Fire your weapon with or without the OPPRESSOR Universal on. The OPPRESSOR family is multi-caliber compatible with .223/5.56, .308/7.62 and 9mm calibers. The OPPRESSOR U is made of a steel core with a 6061-T6 aluminum body and is anodized in SI Black, Red, Blue and FDE. The Universal continues the SI OPPRESSOR line for redirecting the gas pressure produced by aggressive brakes and compensators. Advanced internal geometry actively draws the gasses out and thrusts the gasses forward through ports to accomplish linear braking in order to retain more efficiency. The SI OPPRESSOR Universal can be rapidly installed before indoor shooting, outdoor public firing line or being kind to the classmates next to you while training. Purchased this for when I am shooting indoors or outdoors under cover. Makes it much more comfortable for myself and others. The tri-lug mounting works great and is very satisfying to use. Locks up tight.

The Blast Shield Lightweight Universal Oppressor Muzzle Device is easy to install and use. The Blast Shield can be used on serveral rifles.

I love this device. I have it in my Aero Precision AR with enhanced upper and lower receiver. I have a 9” Atlas R One handguard with a 10.3” Ballistic Advantage Hanson profile Barrel. My muzzle device is a BCM Flash Hider. The device comes with a 5.56 Barrel Adapter and an adapter for the blast forwarding device to attach to. It fits perfectly flush against my handguard with no space to spare. It dust mitigate sound but it does push it out away. It’s perfect if you practice at an indoor range and It makes it more pleasant for shooters on the line with you if you are using a shorter barrel. It also pushes the gasses out abs away from your face.

I had miss-read thinking that the Sl Oppressor would fit inside the SI Gridlock handguards… it does not. The orginal SI Opperssor, which fit great, has an OD of 1.55. The Universal has a slightly larger OD of 1.61, with the ID of the Gridlock being 1.60. (my mistake for not double checking the numbers)So, If you don't plan on having the Universal Opperssor sit inside your handguard, or your handguard has an ID of greater than 1.61, I can recommend the Universal.
