The Trijicon 1-8×28 VCOG (Variable Combat Optical Gunsight) is a highly rugged, variable magnification riflescope designed for close quarter battle (CQB) and long distance marksmanship. With a forged aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminum housing, the VCOG is nearly indestructible. Superior glass provides exceptional clarity and color with zero distortion. The universal segmented circle/MRAD crosshair dot reticle is designed for multi-platform use, accommodating multiple calibers, ammunition weights, and barrel lengths. The first focal plane reticle allows subtensions and drops to remain true at any magnification, allowing the shooter to quickly and accurately apply the correct hold. With ruggedized electronics, the LED reticle is robust enough for any application. Powered by a lithium AA battery (provided), the 1-8×28 VCOG offers a battery life of 633 hours at setting 6. Choose from 11 user-selectable brightness settings, 2 night vision settings, 8 day settings, and 1 super-bright setting. An integrated dial fin allows easy rotation through the magnification range, and a near-constant eye relief means no head or stock position adjustments are needed. Waterproof to 20 meters (66 ft.). The Trijicon VCOG Mount w/ Q-LOC Technology features a Mil-Spec drop test rated 6061-T6 aluminum design, with an easy to use one handed tool less mounting system. The spring-loaded design allows for constant retention and maintaining of zero even if the knobs are not tightened. The mount boasts a low weight and low profile design with superior return to zero performance and is compatible with any Mil-Spec or NATO Picatinny rail. I wanted to spend less, but for what it offered I felt I would regret buying the other high end choices. I love the double A battery. Easy to change and easy to find. The recticle has to be seen in real life to appreciate. I love the huge eyebox. Diopter focuses great with fading vision. Only negative is it is heavy…no way to get around that. Still, I think I will be glad yrs down the road I purchased this. Quality is apparent.

This thing is great. Very clean and clear glass.It’s heavy but so is the Credo 1-8 (its cousin) and the vcog has an integral mount.Beware that the turrets aren’t meant for constant dialing- set it once and forget it.
