I purchased this scope after handling a friend of mines AR15 who also happens to be a member of the city SWAT team, so I knew it was a reliable choice. The glass on this optic is amazing and the BAC reticle is optimized for both eyes open shooting. The fiber optic illumination automatically adjusts to the level of light in your area or it can be manually dimmed to a lower setting. In complete darkness it utilizes tritium to illuminate the reticle. I used the SPR 1.5 Larue Tactical QD mount and it sits atop my AR rifle perfectly allowing me to fold the rear Troy sight under the optic. The ability to adjust the magnification from 1- 4x allows you to shoot accurately from 5 yards out to greater distances with precision. Choose the mil-dot reticle if you want absolute precision as the BAC is designed more for CQB and moving target applications. Overall I personally think this optic trumps any dot sight even with magnifiers in use. Very simple set that is always on and needs no power source.Pros: illuminated reticle, no batteries, adjustable magnificationCons: size and weight compared to aimpoint.

I am so happy with this purchase. The optics on it make all the difference and it is great for close range shooting. Before I was using a three powered scope and it was challenging to find my sites when shooting close. The trijicon helps your eye adjust naturally so you can focus on where you are shooting. I also love the green optics because it is easy to spot on the scope. Red and amber are also good options but can be challenging if shooting in the fall. Would definitely recommend this product and glad I made the investment!

I was skeptical about putting so much money down on a scope where there were reviews stating that the illuminated point wasn't visible or hard to see. I'm glad I took a shot at it anyway because the green point is very easy to see in any light and that's coming from a guy who has an astigmatism in both eyes and has glasses. The german #4 reticle, while the cross hairs are much broader than I'm used to, is very easy to see even in wooded conditions. This is mounted on my .308 bolt gun for deer season and I really love the ability to go to 1x power for the up close shots. I bagged an 8pt buck last year at just 33 yards so I'm confident that this scope and it's reticle will serve me well this year. Durability wise, this thing is solid and held it's zero in over 100 shots of 168 gr BTHP rounds. Has very nice clicky turrets too which I really appreciate. Well built and you definitely get your money out of this scope, I have NO regrets! Thanks OP!!

This scope is very clear. The green triangle post works great as a red dot on 1x zoom. The green triangle will disappear when looking out a window or door while standing in a darker room but the large post still allows for target acquisition.

Excellent glass. The sight window is fantastic and eyebox is very forgiving. Love that it doesn't need batteries. Seems very well built. Overall seems to be a great optic. Unfortunately the reticle only lights up well under certain conditions. In low light, or particularly using the scope from a dim location looking into a brighter location, looking out a window for example, the reticle almost disappears. I understand this is due to the battery free design which limits the illumination capabilities. Will be purchasing a model with a battery for this reason. Looking at the Credo.

I think for any review to be relevant you must first have context on the intended purpose I had in selecting the Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x and how it has held up to my expectations thus far. As someone who has spent most of their military career behind Eotechs, ACOGs, Aimpoint Micros or the Elcan I found that my home rifles were set up quite the same as my work rifles as it was simply what I was used to. As I started competing in local 3 gun competitions I quickly learned the value of a LVPO. Most of my friends and colleagues were using the Vortex Razor so I ventured down the same path and picked one up for my primary comp gun. It’s an excellent optic, I love almost everything about it but for a different rifle build I was working on I wanted something that could meet the criteria of being much lighter than my razor, a more pronounced reticle for up close work but could still give good magnification for shots out to 300ish yards. I did a ton of research and hands on tests and finally narrowed it down to two optics, the Steiner PX4I and the Accupoint 1-4. While I feel that the Steiner is a great optic it was in effect, a mini version of the razor more or less so I decided on the Accupoint with the red triangle reticle. Prior to mounting the accupoint to this particular rifle I was using an Eotech with G33 magnifier. My biggest gripe with the magnifiers is the terrible eye relief and the combined weight of over 22 ozs. I can say that the Accupoint did not disappoint in any category. The weight with Aero Precision Mount is about 18ozs. The glass quality is very good, not Razor or Kahles good but very respectable. Many people say that as you zoom in from one power to 4 it takes some adjusting of the cheek weld but if you have the eye relief set up correctly for you I found it to be a non issue and I did not need to adjust whatsoever. The simple triangle reticle is quite effective to my surprise, I love that there is no electronics in it that can make the reticle “starburst” or bloom. The triangle is very clearly defined in all weather conditions. The tip of of the triangle is very handy for precision work while the triangle reticle as a whole is great for fast work up close. I found myself flying through targets at reflex sight speed. With a 50 yard zero I could easily slap steel using the reticle without adjusting out to about 300 yards. Out further than 300 I wouldn’t count on it much without doping the dials, the triangle is just too big for an effective holdover and you lose the ability to use the tip of it as a precise point. Durability and longevity remain to be seen but I trust Trijicons reputation should something go south. For me this was exactly what I was looking for, something in between a red dot and a good 1-6 LVPO. It’s lightweight, has great glass, a user friendly reticle, requires no batteries and is backed by a trusted name. Though 1-4 optics are a bit forgotten with the huge stable of quality 1-6s/1-8s this makes a great choice for someone looking for the features I found myself looking for.
