It is a very effective scope alas size and weight on a M-16 or AR-15 platform and especially in the M-4 configuration makes it cumbersome. I am still very happy with it in my 16 inch heavy barrel LWRC SPR.Pros: well made, quick aguisition, accurateCons: size and weight

I was issued one of these on my M249 while in the Army. It is one of the most durable/versatile optics available for that gun. If you have a machine gun, there is no better choice than a TA648… Pros: accurate and durable Cons: heavy

Mine is mounted on a Rock River LAR-8 Elite Operator. For me, the chevron is faster than the triangle, and pretty close to a dot. I have a 10 year old grandson, and he cleans up on the steel targets at 200 yards with this optic. I believe this will last for him to give it to his son, assuming we all still have guns by then… This is the top of the line, I recommend this.Pros: It's an ACOGCons: slightly heavy, but isn't going to break

I have been running this on my OBR for a few months now. It is great out to 500 meters (that is the longest range available to me). The glass is crystal clear and I really like the green reticle. I was considering the red chevron, but my buddy, who was in the Army, told me to go with green. It is much easier to see than the red, I guess… Pros: Glass

At this point, everyone knows that Trijicon ACOGs are some of the best optics. This version is humongous and heavy. If you're getting this you probably will fall into one of two categories (or both):1) Stationary shooting2) You're a physically strong personKeep in mind that this optic is also very expensive. If you want an ACOG and you plan on doing a lot of running with your rifle than you may want something lighter. If not then by all means, get this.

I bought this scope for my LaRue OBR 7.62 18" barrel. The mount that came with the optics shot 8" high at it's lowest setting. Trijicon offered that this is a "common issue" with the 308 version and offered to send me a different mount which I have yet to receive. I am sure it will be fine, but FYI.The other thing that surprised me was the distance in the optics are set to meters with the zero suggested for 100 meters. It would be nice if they offered one for imperial as everything I have, including my range, is set to imperial.
