The Trijicon rear sight is black-outlined and specially shaped for faster front sight acquisition. Additionally, the front surface is steeply hooked to assist in emergency one-handed slide operation. This three dot green tritium night sight set from Trijicon features a front sight with a taller blade and an aiming point ringed in photoluminescent paint, while the rear sight is outlined in black and features a wider U-shaped notch. This unique configuration increases visibility and quickens front sight acquisition-even in transitional lighting. Additionally, the front surface of the rear sight is steeply hooked to assist in emergency one-handed slide operation. The green tritium lamps of the rear sight dots are warranted for 12 years from date of manufacture. Trijicon’s internal testing has shown that most users are appreciably (10%-30%) faster getting center-mass hits on a target with the Trijicon HD Night Sights than with standard pistol sights. Our data shows this regardless of the user’s current proficiency level in pistol shooting, and is due to the ability to obtain a faster focus on the front sight of the HD Night Sights. Trijicon CA128Y: HD Night Sight Set – 1911 Novak Cut – Green/Yellow. I ordered these sights for my Ruger SR1911 CMD. As mentioned in the other review on these sights being installed on this platform by "Legacy Reviewer", the front sight install is a pain. The rear sight went on smooth and easy. The front sight, well that's a different story. From what I understand, (I'm not a gunsmith). The way Ruger cut the front sight makes installing the front sight time consuming at best. The guy I had to install mine unbeknownest to me was not a gunsmith. He was the owner of my local gun shop but not a gunsmith. I presumed he was. He didn't bother to tell me otherwise, until what he said would be done in a couple hours turned into three days. He finally told me and said his friend who is a gunsmith was going to do the install for him. From what I gather it took the gunsmith well over an hour to install the front sight. Everything came out beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Moral of the story, go to a known, certified, and quality gunsmith. Do not attemp to self install these sights on this platform. I can only speak for these sights on my specific weapons platform. What was thought to be a simple "plug n play" turned out to be much more. But at least I am happy with the results. The factory front sight has a history for breaking off. Mine did not but I know of others that did. The factory front sight also is known to be dark and hard to pick up in anything but broad daylight, which I did experience. The Trijicon CA128Y: HD Night Sight Set – 1911 Novak Cut – Green/Yellow has made a night/day difference. The front sight is very bright and large, making it an instant focal point in daylight conditions and the tritium inserts are bright and very easy to see in low light/no light situations. Highly recommend these sights.

Put these on my Springfield Armory EMP 4 Lightweight Champion and am glad I did. The front sight is much more visible which makes it easier to find when aiming. The rear sight is great too.Front and rear sights glow in the dark.Couldn't be happier.

I have purchased 2 sets of these for my Sig 226 and Glock 19. They are absolutely the best night sights I have used. Extremely fast acquisition. The set I purchased for my Springfield TRP did not fit the front Novak cut, so I had to return them. I spoke to a rep at Trijicon, and they expect to be making these for the Springfield 1911 in the next 10 -12 months. I will definitely buy them from Optics Planet when they are released.

These were installed by a gunsmith on a Ruger SR1911. His only comment was the front sight required a longer time for fitting. Rear sight pressed in perfectly.Pros: Easy to acquire sight picture with the large yellow front sight.Cons: none

A good aid for old eyes. At age 77, my eyesight is not what it used to be even with eyeglasses. The Trijicon HD Night Sight (Orange) enables me to more quickly pick up the front sight in dim lighting.

For someone like me who's eyesight is starting to see fuzzy gun sights, I scored big time with the front orange night sight I had installed on my Springfield TRP. Even the traditional night sights seem to disappear during daylight shooting sessions. I highly recommend the shooting public give this one a try.
