It’s a good optic, easy to sight in and seems very durable. The battery is easy to change. Downfall is on the brighter settings in a darker atmosphere there is a halo that you can’t see your target through. All of my other optics on the brightest setting in the same lighting do not show a halo like this one does. If you are in full sun and bright atmosphere the halo isn’t present on the brightest setting.

Being hesitant at first to buy a pistol red dot, I shopped around locally looking at the Sig romeo x pro, the Eotech EFLX, and a number of Holosun's. After coming across the Vortex, I was convinced it was the best option for me.

I love the defender st line of red dots. I have the 6moa and wanted to try the 3moa. Both are great my eyes just prefer the 6moa. To me the dot isn't as crisp on the 3moa and I have to have the brightness up higher than I would like. Easy to sight in and easy setting controls. Quality of the glass is superb and looks great on the gun. Oh and the price you can get them for will out perform anything close to it, plus vortex warranty. Definitely recommend.

Long story somewhat short, I have tried many, many red dots in the past couple of years. Trying the Likes of Swamp Fox, Vortex (Viper/Venom), SIG, , Trijicon, and Holosun. From my personal experience as well as vast amounts of research on how well each Perspective red dot holds up durability wise and holds a zero after being beaten to death from loads of torture tests ln YouTube, the Holosun 403c and 503c ended up living on my Glocks. Having good Shake awake Tech and being durable and holding zero they were and are amazing red dots. However in comes the Vortex Defender ST my first introduction to the Defender Line up and of course I chose 6 MOA. Vortex’s previous Red dots were Decent. Not many features and not the most durable and reliable red dots you could get, Now they absolutely Tripled Down and dropped an absolute Gem with the Vortex Defender ST. It’s an absolute Tank, Extremely Durable practically begging you to Wrack or even slap wrack it off Any Rough surface you desire thanks its Heavy Duty Textured face. The Window of the RDS (FOV) is absolutely amazing. You get very fast target acquisition and the Glass is PRISTINE. The amazing Illuminator results in a Vibrant Perfect Dot as well. Oh, and do I Mention it’s got an excellent and reliable shake awake feature? I’d go as far to say that it might even be a little more fine tuned than the tried and true Holosun’s Shake awake feature. All in all this Red Dot sight by Vortex in my personal opinion, marks them as the Nee king of Red dots and the ones to beat when it comes to Sheer Quality, Durability, and feature set. They are also second to NONE when it comes to mounting options out of the box. Coming with a Pic Rail Attachment, all screw sizes and sets you could possibly need to attach it to your pistol (or long gun) and even a Glock MOS plate with screws for it as well. Incredible. Well it's okay I guess it works this the product itself is nothing wrong with it it's not defective it works well I put it on my gun for a week I tried it this is just a personal preference I don't like it I don't like it because I don't like the way it looks it's really telling the gun and clumsy I just don't like it there's something about it but this is a personal preference I don't like it I don't like where it's made especially from vortex what I recommend it for someone else yeah try it but would I buy another one definitely not again there's nothing wrong with the product it's a good product I just don't like it for myself
