I purchased this tripod to mount an Athlon Ares G2 15-45 65mm spotting scope. The High Country II has been very stable and easy to pack. The pan head has been very smooth and perfect for my scope. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sub $200 aluminum tripod. I have been very pleased so far!

Having owned and used a pair of vortex diamondback binocs, when it came time for a spotting scope the choice was easy. #1:best scope for the price. If you can’t afford the Best, buy the best you can afford. #2: optics. I hear it every time someone uses my glasses. Wow! These are nice! #3: smooth operation, sensible lens caps and shock absorbing rubberized coating. These are tough binocs. My new vortex diamondback spotting scope has all the same attributes.#4: All this and a bulletproof warranty. Very satisfied here. A little advice in general: don’t buy junk, it’ll cost more in the long run. Take it from Steve, this is top shelf.

Nice tripod solid easy to adjust. Light weight. Solid product. Only thing i didn’t like it’s made in Taiwan. Light weight comes from good company. And a carrying bag comes with it. Has a hook to add weight in windy conditions.

  4. Mike

This tripod is hands down the most stable one I've ever used.

  5. Robert Wilson

Initially bought a much cheaper tripod which wasn’t stable and was difficult to set for uneven terrain. This tripod does it all…rangefinder, spotting scope, shooting tripod with the right adapter (Javelin). As the case most of the time, you get what you pay for and this tripod has been worth the cost.

This is lightweight sturdy rugged. Price point is good. Would have liked carbon fiber but out of budget. Has a case for transport but not sure how sturdy would be backpacking. Seems good. Time will tell the tale. Warrenty is excellent. Had some problems with other products and drove to facility and went home with new not refurbished. Great company. Treated excellent while there.
