Great item for the price and up to Vortex high standards. I agree with previous reviews on size comments.Pros: Works well, good craftsmanship.Cons: None so far

Great way to keep a spare battery for an Aimpoint T1 or a Leupold Mark 4 (illuminated reticle model) close at hand. Low profile design with a tethered and 'o-ringed' battery cap.Pros: Low profile and light weightCons: Takes up 1 1/2" of rail space.

Does what it is supposed to. Little expensive, but if your battery goes out on your optic and you don't have a spare, well, you get the idea. I cut the tether off, snagged easily.Pros: lightweight, easy to put on, seals nice & tightCons: tether on the cap gets in the way and is easily snagged

Ever have your battery die at the least opportune moment? This holder fits on the picatinny rail and will hold any flat battery that's the size of a CR2032 or smaller(will not fit a CR2430) or slightly bigger than a penny but too small for a nickel. Holder has an O-ring to seal the compartment and a retaining cable to prevent cap loss. It slides easily onto the rail and has a simple locking mechanism that prevents it from falling off but the locking tab is easily lifted for removal. Made of polymer so it should be fairly durable and has a reasonable low profile. Cable length is fixed so it might be too long or too short.Pros: Lots of prosCons: cable length is fixed

For a couple years now I have come to believe that Vortex meant value. They may not make the very best on the market but you're going to get a high quality, high value piece that won't break the bank. I use everything from the Razor HD 2 down to a crossfire and I've been happy with the quality for what I paid…until this product. Its all polymer and the finish is passable at best. Lots of rough edges. Locks on the rail with that little cut out you see in the picture and the fit, again, is passable. The fit isn't really very tight but since it is all polymer, it doesn't make any noise or anything. I'm not sure how water proof its going to be, the washer is a very hard, flat rubber, it doesn't seem to compress much at all, I will probably replace it with a Viton O-ring out of my harbor freight set in hope of keeping the battery fresh. The little cable you see on it to keep you from losing the lid is again, kinda disappointing. Its nice its there so you don't lose the lid, but, it just has a loop on the end you can't see in the picture. The picture on the packaging after you receive the product shows you looping it through a harris style bipod. You could loop it through holes in your rail or something too if you're using this on and AR style rifle. Personally, I would much rather see the little cable attach back to a little post on the base so you don't have to weave parts of your rifle together. Now, after all that, I suppose I might recommend this to someone but I would fully inform them of what to expect, or, just let them check mine out and decide if the limitations are worth it for them. This has the fit and finish of a 5$ NC Star part, not nearly what I would expect from vortex. As far as I have seen, it's the only game in town so if you're insistent on carrying an extra battery on rifle, this may be your only option. Lots of room for improvement, and probably too long of a review for a 15$ part

Overall, it does what it is supposed to.To use it, you must have access to an open end of your rail. For example, if you have a BUIS front and a laser, these must be removed so the device can be slid on.I purchased 3 of these and two of them didn't have the cable crimped on tightly and the cable disconnected from the cap.
