Nice scope when picked up in sale. The glass is just barely better than the arken ep5 but the warranty wins out big. If you can get the s.e for around the 600 dollar mark it's a strong buy. If I had to pay 800 I'd probably go with the arken ep5 for the money

ordered the strike Eagle scope and a medium cantilever mount 56mm bell works well with medium mount I mistakenly ordered the medium mount once I realized my mistake I decided to try mounting it before I returned it fits good and has plenty of room between scope and pic rail. Strike Eagle ffp 5×25 is super clear and I really like the reticle mounted scope as soon as i received it can't wait too sight it in

I saw this originally on the Vortex website and then compared prices here. I'm glad I did. I caught it on sale and paid over $400 less than their MRSP listing.Initially, I was still a bit hesitant because its specs were much different than the Diamondback scope I WAS using. But pulled the trigger (no pun intended) and ordered it. Arrived 4 days later. After getting some new mounting rings to fit this tube, I installed it myself and was off to the range. The clarity was unbelievable. At 100 yards, I could see my shots on regular paper targets (no shoot-n-see) well enough that i could adjust the zero without spotting scope or waiting to go down range. At full magnification, I was able to see the 1" bullseye and center the crosshairs.Zeroing was easy, and resetting turrets couldn't have been simpler. Not only will I recommend this scope and shopping Optics Planet, I already have.

All this time I thought vortex had some less than desirable scopes. However I picked this one up and things are changing for me. This glass is very clear and the reticle is amazing. I had my gun zeroed in just a few shots. All the hold over and under and windage marks make it easy to shoot at various ranges and wind conditions. The illumination is good, I just have to remember to turn it off so the battery doesn’t die. The only thing to watch out for is this uses 34mm scope rings. My small town gun stores were sold out of them, so just a heads up. Also the parallax is pretty specific, so when I shoot it at different ranges even from 40, 60, 75, 100 yards I make sure to dial the parallax in first because even going from 40 to 60 yards it will look blurry if not set right. But in my mind this is a good thing. My buddy looked through it and said it looked blurry past 250 yards like the rest of his cheap vortex scopes, but I don’t think he had the parallax set right. It looks good to me. I’d buy this again for all my rifles. Good for hunting and target shooting. I’m really enjoying this scope. And it’s FFP!!! The real gem is the reticle. I haven’t used the zero stops yet

I usually don't review products, but had too much fun with this scope today. Spent a lot of time over the last 2 weeks on my Savage ba stealth 6.5 CM and compared head to head with a Riton rts 4-32×56mm 34mm tube on a 6.5 CM Ashbury and a Burris 8-40×56mm 34 mm tube on a 338 lapua. This scope tracks perfectly from 1-7 mils (1 mil marked vertically) from my 100 yd zero, tracking better than the Riton and as well as the Burris (both $1100 scopes). The Strike Eagle glass has better brightness than the Burris, but the other two have slightly better resolution at 700+. The Vortex tracked perfectly today putting me on 1/2 moa steel from 100 to 600 yd steel and 1 moa steel at 750 and 880. Able to see my impacts out to 750 even with the mirage on a 95+ degree moning. The turrets have a great feel and good sound. Was able to go from 500 to 200 to 400 just by dialing and it was spot on each time, same POI at each distance over about 50 rounds shooting out to 750 and dialing back with about 15-20 seconds between shots in the 5 rnd magazine. Easy to use zero stop and secure raise to dial, depress to lock turrets. Have not used the illuminated reticle yet. Eye relief better than my Diamondback and less expensive Riton ($400 each) on my 308 and a hunting gun and better resolution, brighteness, and parallax than both of the less expensive scopes. The parallax numbers on the side don't match up but that is my only complaint. Need to mount it on the 338 or a custom Win Mag build I am working on and see how it takes abuse/recoil and see how it tracks out further since I have 10+ mils more elevation unused by 6.5 CM at 880 yards. My favorite budget scope so far (less than $1000) and want to compare it to the new Athlon Ares ETR to see who tracks better. Thanks Vortex and Thanks Optics Planet for the great service on this scope and the others mentioned. Always ship quickly items quickly and receive in excellent condition. My go to

Wonderful! I've been very happy with the last few models of Vortex scopes in this model family. Price versus quality of scope has been a great balance. I'm a fan. This time we're trying this unit on a 338 Lapua Magnum to do some precision shooting. So far the scope, precision rings, and precision rifle have been working well together. Makes me look like I might know what I'm doing at some of these 600 plus yard shots. Flexibility of close or far. Love the zero reset stop system when transitioning between long and far. Using the hold over retical OR dial it up quickly. Either way there's enough math and settings in this unit to try the mile shot… guess we'll see and possibly update this. Regardless, using quality precision matched rings was a huge benefit and made a difference. Holding the zero on a magnum can be difficult from the pounding. This has been holding up great! No odd drift and clarity is great. Zero was super fast and almost way too easy. I appreciate saving ammo and not chasing around impacts to zero a scope. I had this thing dead on in two shots after mounting. Now it's just filling same hole shots over and over. Love it!
