i have this sight. i mounted this sight to my glock , g34, gen4 mos. i used plate #1 for my glock. i called vortex because you need new screws to mount this sight to the glock. plate #1 mos…. Vortex provides these screws for free if you message them… i then had to buy the "gasket" that UM TACTICAL sells. to fit between the sight and the mounting plate #1 which is attached to the glock. it costs like $5.00 bucks.you need this to have the battery (2032) stay in contact with the frame/sight. . Some bypass this by using shoo-goo or other sticky stuff to hold the battery in place. . i can not vouch for this method as i have not used it. (spend the $5 bucks)USE THE GLOCK SCREWS TO MOUNT THE PLATE #1 TO THE GLOCK BODY ( MOS PISTOL) THEN USE THE "SHIM" (OR GASKET() SOLD BY UM TACTICAL BETWEEN THE BATTERY THAT THE VIPER SIGHT USES (AND VIPER SIGHT) TO THE GUN. ( LIKE A CAKE THAT'S LAYERED) THEN USE THE FREE SCREWS PROVIDED BY VORTEX TO ATTACH THE VORTEX VIPER TO THE UM TACTICAL SHIM WHICH ATTACHES TO THE GUN BODY.SO, 1) GUN FRAME (BODY) LOWEST .LAYER.. ATTACH TO THIS BODY (FRAME) THE M.O.S. PLATE #1. STEP #2 (ATTACH PLATE #1 TO GLOCK (FRAME) OR (BODY) WITH GLOCK PROVIDED SCREWS AND USE OPTIONAL LOCKTITE (THREAD GLUE APPLIED TO SCREWS ) TO KEEP PLATE #1 ATTACHED TO FRAME. BETTERNOW STEP #3. PUT THE BATTERY (2032) (PLUS SIDE SHOWING OUT) INTO THE VIPER. STEP #4; PUT THE SHIM (UM TACTICAL'S) GASKET) BETWEEN THE VIPER RED DOT SIGHT, AND THE FRAME (BODY) OF THE GLOCK. .. SECURE THEM WITH THE FREE SCREWS PROVIDED BY VORTEX. SO, IT'S THE;, " VIPER SIGHT ATTACHED TO THE SHIM, ATTACHED TO THE GLOCK FRAME (BODY)( (USE LOCKTITE AGAIN ON THE SCREWS) THAT SECURE THE RED DOT VIPER SIGHT TO THE UMTACTICAL SHIM WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE GLOCK FRAME (BODY)

Works great on a G40 mos. To bad you have to remove it to change the battery, a true pain in the *ss if you're in the field or out and about without tools. Definitely get suppressor sights. There, is that 200 characters long?

I'm sure this is a fluke since this optic is perfect for rifles, shotguns and pistols, but I put mine on my new 10/22 takedown and it was dead nuts out of the box. Granted, I wasn't checking my pattern on paper, but I was trimming sharpie sized branches and popping golf balls at 20yrds. This and their warranty will keep me buying Vortex

This is my second Viper ive bought. I also a holosun 507.And that thing bounces around more Then a kangaroo on a trampoline at a jumper party. The Vipers steady dot with my canted 35 degree is by far smooth. you can't go wrong.

I purchased this Vortex Viper for my new Walther PPQ-Q5. It fit using the Plate for the Doctor Red Dot. It was easy to site in and it is right on the money. At 70 ft. rapid fire I had a group of ten rounds in about 4 to 5 inches. Great for me. I'm thinking about purchasing the Vortex Venom for my Ruger Lite 22/45.

This optic is the low end of the Vortex offering, so some of what I say here may be obvious…The quality seems fine, although the glue used on the rubber cover for the buttons seems poorly applied and like it may not last. This was my bad for not reading more closely, but the fact that it does not have a ‘Shake Awake’ feature is real bummer. Having to remember to turn it off, and also to turn it on (maybe more importantly) takes some real focus If you’re used to just holstering up your weapon and heading out. In that same vein, you have to remove that optic completely to change its battery should you forget to turn it off.The emitter used for the dot flickers. You can see it when you move your eyes to acquire a target – even the 100 dollar Amazon special red/green dot doesn’t do this (and that one has ‘Shake Awake’).On the good side, it’s low profile, has clear vision through the glass, has a nicely focused dot.If you’re looking for a backup dot for your kitted out rifle, pick this thing. If you’re looking for a good everyday carry dot- buy the defender at the next price level up, It’s less to think about and you’ll be happier.
