I purchased the vortex sun shade for an upgrade on my vortex scope. I received the sun shade in a just a few days. Great product for my long range Savage rife. I would recommend this product and install in a few minutes. Thanks again Optics Plant for a Great Product.

My only gripe is that the sunshade doesn't have the same outer diameter as the scope but it doesn't affect the usability at allPros: Fits wellCons: OD slightly smaller than the scope

Ordered my Vortex Viper 6.5x20x50 scope and sunshade at the same time. Scope arrived promptly as expected but sunshade was not available and back ordered for 2 months. By the time the sunshade arrives scope is mounted and sighted in. Finally it arrives and is flat black in color vs. the semi-gloss finish on the scope? Not to mention the outside diameter of the shade is smaller than the objective end of the scope too? Now to top it off the Vortex flip-up scope cover is too loose on the shade.. Did screw on nicely although when tight the white Vortex lettering is not at the 12 o-clock position but more like 10:00 o-clock! Will do the job but but probably not what you want to put on a sleek looking rifle.

This shade will do what it was intended for, block the sun, but the Vortex labeling on the scope doesn't line up when tight and it's diameter is smaller than the 50 mm housing of the scope. So if you want to be pissed off everytime you pick up your rifle, buy this sun shade. The leadership at Vortex has to be extremely disappointed at their efforts here or they just plain dont care. This is my first Vortex product and will be my last. To many other choices to put up with this poor design. If they can't get this right what else are they missing.
