I had a 320 unit before and this unit takes to the next level.Too little quirks I have is the USB protector comes out to easy. Armasigjt you can come up with a better cover that stays in place. The other is the paperwork that come with the unit is lacking much content. I had to go a get the manual od your website. What would be an excellent idea is make a plastic card the size of a credit card with all the operating guide on it. You could then carry it in you wallet. But steal this is an excellent product.

First off, the folks at Armasight have been excellent to deal with. Their customer service and efforts to help with questions, have been the best I've ever dealt with in a company. I purchased and received this unit after reading, studying, and comparing all similar brands and types of units before making a decision. I immediately started messing with it to get the controls and functions figured out, and found them to be easy and simple even for a tech-challenged knucklehead like me. I have other weapons mounted thermals that are dedicated to their own firearms, so I have some experience with thermals in general, and this sidekick is easier to use than those other units, and the performance is excellent. The single CR123 battery use is short lived, so you'll want to expand your power source for longer, sustained use. I called the company and inquired about a specific external power source that I wanted to use before hooking it up, and this I've found, is a much better way to go for better use and battery life over an extended time period. After owning the unit for about three weeks, I received an email from Armasight with instructions on updating the unit software with an improvement to the operating system, and everything was made simple and free to complete using my computer, and a quick download. I have two other thermal units from two different "high-end" companies, and have owned them for a few years now, and I have never once received software updates, or options to enhance the performance of the units, nor have I ever been contacted afterwards to give my opinion about how the units are operating or could be made better in the future. I really like this little unit and have had a good time getting familiar with it and stretching its capabilities. I would seriously recommend this unit if you're looking for a small, handheld, or head mounted unit, and I would definitely recommend Armasight as a company.

Is it the best thermal, No. Don't expect an Apache gunsight FLIR, you will have to adjust the settings to get the best picture for the environment. However, what is this good for? This is perfect for scanning your environment for targets. If you scan with a scope thermal, you are bound to miss a bigfoot standing 20 yards from you walking by in a clown outfit. With this, you have something small, "cheap for thermals" and easy to use to scan the environment. Once you find a target, then you can switch to your main optic.

I ordered this optic what feels like a lifetime ago, I had o idea that it was going to take months to arrive. However Optics Planet communicated clearly and honestly and the price was so good the wait was worth it. I've paired this device with a PVS14 on a noise fighters pano bridge and absolutely love it. The ability to collimate, co-align, the image is crucial for the hybrid bino application I've chosen. Starting up I did have a few issues with the unit's controls freezing but the image was unaffected so that was reassuring. I had to unscrew the battery compartment to kill power and force a reset. Once I turned the unit back on it was unfrozen and still remembered the settings I had set, also reassuring. I used the therm in my office building and could see the studs glowing through the walls as well as amazing detail on furniture and other items. Of course when a person was in screen it was overtly apparent. Took the dog for a walk in the neighborhood and was amazed at how many cats were hiding throughout the walk that the dog didn't notice but that the therm identified easily. Even after the therm picked up the hiding cats, I couldn't see them in the PVS14. With that being said definitely an eye opening experience regarding the limitations of the PVS14 compared to the thermal, which highlighted why I wanted the hybrid option in the first place. I definitely made the right decision and have no ragrets not even a letter.
