This is just right for my Ruger Mini-14 in 300 blackout. Shipping was good and no damage to the product by shipping company. This is my third purchase of this item so I must like them.

I have been very impressed with this 1-8 LPVO including the reticle. I always like to know what grain bullet they used for the BDC and it states that very clearly where some you have to search and search to find that information. Overall, I highly recommend this scope. It's done everything I have wanted it to do.

This scope is better than Viper PST in almost every category for $250 dollars less! This scope is a 1X8 vs 1X6. The Argos is over a inch shorter over a ounce lighter with near identical eye relief and field of view. I would give the Viper a small edge in glass clarity but not worth the $250. Athlon also has the same warranty as vortex they replace anything no questions asked.

Scope has some good looks and feels solid. It doesn't have the best clarity though. Not terrible, but color and detail clarity a little lacking and gets blurry toward the edges in 1x. It also does not have all the features of the LPVO scopes it competes against like auto illumination turn off, magnification extended throw lever, extra battery compartment, etc. Illumination was pretty nice and they illuminate the BDC drop reticle too, however if your eye is not perfectly centered in the lens, the dots lose their clarity and bleed color to the sides. It does not have great eye relief and the eye box forgiveness is not great especially when increasing magnification. Seems to have some glare/reflection issues affected by the position of the sun causing additional usability challenges. Doesn't seem like you get good value for the price. Warranty is not as good as a lot of other companies. If you buy a faulty scope from them and have to get it checked out, they make you pay to ship it to them. I have had better luck and value from the Atibal scopes. Swamp Fox, Lucid or Burris may also be a better choice. The Vortex Strike Eagle has more and better features but I have had numerous bad luck / poor quality issues over the last year with Vortex so I wouldn't recommend them either.
