If you don't need ballistics and bluetooth to phone or tablet, this is the thermal scope. You're getting a great processor, thermal sensor, screen resolution. The dollars are going directly towards matter here, and not all the ancillary BS that doesn't effect the performance. Has the things you need, like 1-shot zero, multiple color pallets, and such. I have compared this to and used the Pulsar Trail XP50 as well, which has the same performance specs as this scope, and its extremely comparable in performance, for half the price. I absolutely recommend this LTV640 and only waited as long as I did because I thought I needed to budget $5000 for thermal. Not the case at all with this one!One recommendation, on the AR15 platform, get the 30mm extra high rings. I couldn't get my eye behind it properly with high, and the mediums didn't lift the scope off the rail high enough to get it mounted. Also, I never found a 1-piece mount to fit it. You need at the absolute minimum, 3.5 inches of clearance between the rings. My only real complaint is on the rubber boot. It cuts off the edges of the screen and can be difficult to get your eye directly in line with it and the screen. I am running the scope without the rubber boot, would prefer to use it, but it's more of a hinderance than helpful.Being it doesn't have an external battery, and I didn't want to have to bring the gun close to a plug to charge the scope, I went with the Sightmark external battery that mount to picatinny rails. It's light and in my opinion, a better option than the ATN that mounts to the buttstock.

I bought this scope 2 month ago and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality thermal scope with a really reasonable price. Of course this is not a top level scope, but it has all basic features. The one-shot zero works amazingly well. The quality of the thermal image is good. It also can record the video with HD quality. This scope does exactly what it’s supposed to do

I bought the ATN ThOR LTV for security around my property, and I'm really impressed. I needed something to help me keep an eye on things at night, and this scope has been perfect. It's surprisingly easy to use, even for a tech novice like me. The thermal sensor is amazing! It picks up heat signatures so clearly, I can easily tell if it's a deer wandering through my yard or something more concerning. The product info says it has a 12-micron thermal sensor with resolutions up to 640×480, and a 60 Hz refresh rate, and honestly, I don't know what all that means, but the picture is great! No lag or blurriness, which is important when you're trying to identify potential threats. Being able to record video is a huge plus too. It uses a rechargeable battery, and I've been getting a solid 9 hours out of it, just like they advertised. It's also pretty light, which is nice because I'm not lugging around a heavy scope all night. The different magnification options are useful too, letting me zoom in from a distance. For property surveillance, this thing is seriously effective. It's given me real peace of mind knowing I can detect intruders before they even get close. I've used it for wildlife observation too, which is pretty neat. Overall, I'd definately recommend the ThOR LTV to anyone needing a reliable and affordable thermal imaging solution for security or even just spotting critters in the dark.
