Cmmg, Inc AR15, Ambi Magazine Catch w/Mag Release Button and Spring
$61.25
Category: CMMG, Inc Gun Parts
Description
Forever the AR15 has been a right handed persons tool. With Ambi controls evolving, its becoming more of a tool that everyone can use, even left handed shooters! This Ambi Mag Catch works in place of a standard mag catch to allow left handed shooters drop their mag without having to switch to your right had for the mag release. Easy drop in replacement, and blends in to the style of any AR. Another quality part from CMMG! Honestly, I bought this, well, just to add to my receiver no specific reason but WOW! I’m so glad I did. The installation was quick and easy. You can really feel the quality of this part. Everything is smooth. Highly recommend!

It works as described and doesn’t cost a fortune. Have purchased this multiple times

Pros: Ambi mag release, works, no modificatuoj to gun frame.Cons: Works poorly, if at all, with BAD lever or similar devices, works poorly with maritime bolt catch, really close to standard bolt release. I believe they are on the same vertical plane.I would only reccomend this to those that arent going to try and incorporate other ambidextrous controls ontonthe left side of their rifle and who will train or orwctice with it.This is a solid ambi mag release as i. It works for its intended purpose. However, its location is pretty ummm inconvenient. It does not appear dewigned to work with any other ambi like accessories that ive used. This literally butts right up against the maritime bolt catch/release and i believe a BAD lever would run directly over top of this device. I know peoole dont like Troy, but i would use theirs. Perhaps because they have a BAD lever imitation, they designed their mag release to work with similar devices.

And this was easy to install and easy to use. It's very simple and works as intended. The only thing that isn't mentioned is that it's very difficult to use with a full magazine as it becomes incredibly stiff.

Nice upgrade. Especially for left hand people. It doesn't stick out to far. And it will function correctly with extended bolt catches like the Giessele Maritime bolt catch.
