Crimson Trace LG-478 LaserGrip for Kimber Micro .380

This was easy to install and very functional. It's small size fits the gun well and is a great addition to their product line. This makes the gun much more functional and accuracy no longer a concern. Would have been nice if their had been a instruction that said grip stud had to be moved as we had to call as didn't think this was the correct unit for this fun, but they told us just had to move it and then all was great.

Bought this for my wife's .380. She's a relatively new shooter and this instantly boosted her enthusiasm and confidence. This my 3rd Crimson Trace laser grip. Several years ago, I bought laser grips for my 1911 and Browning Hi Power. After hundreds of rounds each, I've never had a problem with function or holding zero. Great product, reasonable price, and Optics Planet processed and shipped my order quickly.

First, great service/shipping from Optics Planet, they are definitely in my favorites grouping. To the grips. On the design limits, these are small grips for a small pistol. Main thing there, besides big hands, is with your trigger finger out of the guard it is easy to move it up enough to block the laser, minor issue, was easy to adjust to for me with average size hands for a man. Other wise grips felt good and no real loss of space compared to original grips. It is a red laser so easier to see in lower light conditions. My main reason was for home defense and back up weapon, using with thought to being night / low light. Due to weapon's design, no rail mount, this is about the only option for laser mount,(short of duct tape), and at this time only available in red light. Since it is mainly for close in defense it should not be a big issue but did want to mention. Activation button,(under middle finger), is easy to press with normal grip. If I don't focus on it I don't even notice the action of the button. I also like that it has a master on/off switch in a recessed position on the lower part of the left side grip. That way you can easily turn it off if you don't want it on for some reason without having to open the grips and also no worry of hitting it by accident. Installation is pretty straight forward. You will need a 3/32 Allen wrench for the grips screws. Same screws are used in new grip which is a one piece unit. I do want to point out one thing, as it is not mentioned in the instructions, and before you have a minor "wtf" moment as I did. Before you put on the new grip you may have to move the upper screw post on the right side. Not a issue, you will need a small crescent wrench or wrench around 1/4" or so. I had a crescent and didn't think to measure it before I put it together. It is a small post with the typical two flat sides to grip at. It is firmly tightened but will unthread without problem, does not appear to be any lock-tight material on it and has a short thread reach. It will need to be moved into the pre-threaded hole right below that one. Snug it good but not to hard, don't want to strip it, as I said short threads. And make sure what ever tool you use has a firm bite on the two flat side, may be easy to round off some. After that the grips will fit just right. Of course don't forget to put the batteries in the grips first. Speaking of which,in the box you will find the grips, usual additional papers, instruction guides, 2 cleaning swabs for the lens, adjusting tool for laser alignment and a couple of small warning decals you are supposed to put on your pistol which I am sure add to it's fine lines-lol. All in all only takes a few minutes if you haven't done one before, no where as long as I "word" it. I think I may need to adjust mine, seems just a bit to the right and up but that should not be a problem. And of course do all of this with the weapon un-loaded and cleared and watch the trigger finger if you are just trying the laser out. Remember – stupid kills. This was the first grip style laser I have installed/used and wrote this from that view point, so, please excuse me if I got a bit lengthy. Hope this is helpful.
