The Scorpus Macarov holster is highly versatile with three mounting options for any way you carry. (I’ve only used the paddle option.) It holds the pistol securely with both active and passive retention, and the cant angle is adjustable both directions. The paddle option holds the pistol pretty far away from my body, which is better for comfort and drawing, but the trade off is significant printing. Some folks say the active retention release directly over the trigger on holsters (like Blackhawk) can cause negligent discharges. Scorpus’s retention release button is high above the trigger guard putting your finger on the slide exactly where it should be. In theory, I like that, but angling my index finger unnaturally upward while simultaneously pushing the release tab is a bit awkward. If this position reduces accidents, then it’s worth the ergonomic sacrifice. This is a very nice holster, that matches FAB Defense’s OUTSTANDING grip that converts the Macarov mag heel release with a button near the slide… It’s brilliantly simple. If you buy this holster, buy the game-changing grip too.
