This is mounted on my 5.56 18" chrome-lined heavy barrel. I have found it to be very sufficient for 300 yards and under. Love the turkey reticle. The clarity is great. The etching is fantastic with variable levels of hreen or red brightness. Appears to hold 0 very well.

Almost dead on out of the box, super clean glass. I like the Turkey reticle. And the option of green or red light up reticle is cool.

  3. Bozz

I used the scope in Maine hunting turkeys I killed one at 50 yards and another at 36 . Great product.

This is an unbelievable scope for the money. It has a red or green illuminated reticle which won’t affect people with astigmatism. I love my red dots but this is a nice change. Plus it’s really light and super clear. I put it on my Rossi 20 gauge but needed to use medium rings because of the hammer. I liked it so much I bought another one when it went on sale.

I love this turkey scope. It's just about perfect. My complaint is with Optics Planet. The 4 inches of eye relief is real . Its even better than 4 inches, Maybe 4-7 inches. So no more recoil worries. The glass is plenty good. Even a scope snob would tell you its bright enough for early morning. The eye box is huge. The field of view is plenty good also. 30mm tubes make scopes heavy and sit too high. They only help to increase correction for bullet drop out past 600 yards.. so 1 inch scopes are better on shotguns. The reticle is well thought out and bright enough. The glass etching is the best I've ever seen. But I doesn't come in camo..The forward part of the scope tube is just a little short for proper mounting. And to get the scope warranteed by Hawke, you need a receipt.. and Optics Planet did NOT send me my receipt with the scope.

This review is about the L4A dot specifically. This is a fiberdot reticle that is super bright even in sunny conditions and gets dim enough for low light as well with zero bloom in the illumination. The glass is clear with a very long eye relief that seems to my eye to be approx. 4.5". The 1x is very close to true 1x, much more expensive scopes will have a better 1x, but those are all 30mm. Mine weighed in as just under 12 ounces. There aren't many 1-4x scopes that use a 1" tube that have a daylight bright fiber reticle, this was the only one I could find at the time. I have mounted this to a 308, and also to semi auto 5.56 rifles. It has been rugged and held zero, but I only have about 450 rounds using this scope. This optic also comes with a nice killflash, scope covers, and throw lever. I'm a weight diva, so, I don't like putting heavy optics on top of anything that isn't a precision rifle. With lightweight rings or mount, the total weight should be well under 1LB, which is very good. Think of it like a mini Razor. This would be sweet on a lever gun. As with any LPVO the battery life isn't great. Forget to turn it off, and the illumination is dead. Buy a stack of 2032s, and keep them on the gun.
