Pretty impressed with this sight.Good sized window and while I mostly run the circle dot reticle, I like having the option to switch to just a dot reticle.Controls are on the side and easy to use. Opposing side battery tray means you don't have to remove the optic to change the battery (not that you will need to be changing this battery often).Green reticle is crisp and still visible in all but the brightest direct sunlight.Indoors, upon opening the box, I noticed some glare/reflection when not looking directly through the optic. Seemed like an effect of the coatings. But once on the range, indoors or outdoors, it never was an issue or even really noticed. The QD mount design isn't my favorite but it held up to my abuse without any issues.Holosun is making some great advancements in the red dot market.

I mounted this on a 300BLK pistol. Quickly sighted it in, and it has a nice, large viewing window to easily get on target. It's easy to keep both eyes open when using it. Battery life has been great, no concerns. Red dot is crisper than most other red dots with my astigmatism. It is larger than most red dots but it hasn't been an issue.

My brother suggested this scope for my new AR style carbine for field of view relative to size having set up little further down the rail and being able to keep both eyes open while working it. Will take a little getting used to but I think he was onto something, not only in how to use but the value in this Red Dot scope in this type application. Have seen others that maybe have a bigger lens but they use a large guard around it to supposedly protect it in case of dropping ? Problem I see with this thinking is that the "guard" blocks more of your view and I personally think dropping either one wrong will result in damage. Not going to experiment, just my thoughts. I feel this is a nice and very usable compromise. Now here's the weird part, upon setting up on my rail and beginning the sight in process it was literally right on. At 10 yards it shot maybe 2" low and right on side to side. Spent another 10 minutes hitting 6" metal plates at 50 and then 75 yards. Did not use paper so not exactly sure where it was at but wow ! Will spend a little more time in the future on perfection but I can hardly believe how apparently close it is right out of the box. Not even sure if that would prove quality but I was impressed. Ordered another one after this experience and looking forward to seeing how that plays out on my other AR…

I have within the last 2 weeks purchased 2 HS510C Holosun red dot sights. 2 MOA dot w/ 65 MOA circle. I am retired law enforcement, and am familiar with red dot sights. I have Trigicon RMR red dots on 3 of my EDC pistols. I thought I was going crazy! When I turned the adjustment screw in the direction indicating that the red dot would move right, it moved left. Also Up is Down, and visa versa. I realize they are made in China, however I believe Left is Left, and Up is Up even in China. Other than that they seem to perform well, and hold where they are set. I was using a laser. If you were just at the range you could get a little crazy before you figured it out. Just for information.

Just received my HS510c in the mail after a 5 month wait, well worth it. The sight itself seems to be well built and fits snug on my upper receiver rail. It is important to note this is a REFLEX not a HOLOGRAPHIC sight. Holosun did their homework and managed to isolate the specific wavelength of the LED and created a coating (red tint) on the main lens that reflects only that specific wavelength, allowing for ALL other light to pass through creating crisp and clear sight picture. When inserting the battery tray it makes a very positive click ensuring a water tight seal. Time will tell if Holosun lives up to their claim for long battery life. The only issue that I have with it is the location of the controls being on the side of the unit. I am aware that many other Holosun models have the controls on the side; but for the 510c it is a bit difficult to work them from a shooting position. I would prefer them to be located on the top rear of the unit as depicted in some prototypes.
