Got this for a 30-06. Size your case and insert into tool. It tells you right away if you need to trim. No need to check each case with calipers. You do need a bright light and a straight edge to see if the case neck is high or low.Pros: Easy to useCons: None

Replicates the chamber of a .223 SAMMI. I thought my loads were good…OAL was dead on, at the ogive dead on. Full length resized…then I testes a 100 final loads and found about 10 where the shoulder wasn't in spec. These were ONCE fired so I pulled them and resized them…still out of spec…so in the recycle bin they went. Its nice to have this guage to check the final loads.Pros: Simple to use, easy to readCons: none

Easy to use to assess whether case length and headspace are within specifications for loaded or empty cases. My eyesight is not the best, so it is difficult for me to use a straight edge with this gauge for visual assessment of headspace. But I can easily feel with my fingers to determine whether the case is between the max and min. If a more accurate measure is needed for cases above the min, it would be simple to use calipers with this gauge.Pros: Very simple to use.

I purchased this as well as the pistol gauges. looks solid. very helpful when determining if i have to trim the case or toss it because it's too short. after trimming, placed it back in the gauge to see if it is within spec(according to the gauge) and then I would measure it with the calipers as a "just to make sure." gauge works perfectly, all my brass are within specs. Would definitely recommend.

VERY necessary tool for 50 BMG brass not shot of your rifle. Resized brass must plop in not be pushed in. If it doesn't plop, put a little extra lube around the bottom 1/3 of the case and resize fully until the shell holder touch's the die, if you leave the smallest space it will not feed into most rifles.

This case gauge works really well to help you determine head spacing for average reloading for target shooting. There are more accurate precision systems one could select for more competitive or precision shooting & setting the ogive to the landings. But for everyday plinking, this gauge is great. If it fits in the gauge, it should chamber in your rifle. Of course you still want to check all your other specs as well, case length, crimp, OAL, etc.
